the other premier league games thread on 16:54 - Dec 6 by Al_Bundy | Good results for us are Spurs/Palace Hull/WBA and Liverpool/Sun Burnley lost at QPR which keeps Burnley a distance from us Stoke make ground but Arsenal don't move away from us Newcastle is probably our worst scenario this afternoon Hopefully City will turn over Everton for us. |
Seriously? You're watching and trying to manipulate other scores for a meaningless table in December? WE need to look after our own results, nothing else matters. You get nowt for being 5th or 10th in December. We have a fab number of points, we need to keep it up

Blackpool had 22 points at Christmas 2011 and still went down. Just saying like.

Blackpool couldn't defend though.. plus they didn't have Wilfried Bony up front.. they had Charlie Adam as their star man.. we're an experienced Premier League outfit.. with international players.. slight difference..

Absolutely right, Skip, but it is a salient warning for anyone who think that the hard work is done. I don't think for one second that we'll figure in the relegation dogfight this season but it's always a possibility right up until it's not.

No I know, apologies if you thought I suggested there was. The Blackpool stat is in my head because a few days ago a mate of mine (a Swansea-based Man U "fan" with no interest in the Swans at all who has predicted relegation for the Swans with absolute certainty every year since we got promoted) mentioned it to me the other day during his latest "Swans to go down" prediction. This latest prediction is based on the fact that Blackpool had that number of points at Christmas and still went down and we haven't won away all season since the opening day (he still hasn't got over the fact that our win away win this season was at his beloved Old Trafford. So I wanted to throw the Blackpool stat in there and this seemed as good a place as any. We'll have 25 points this time tomorrow anyway so it'll be even more moot. Although my main hope for tomorrow is that we at least vastly improve on last year's embarrassingly lamentable effort at Upton Park. That game still haunts me.

Just an observation.. reel yourself in !
the other premier league games thread on 17:37 - Dec 6 with 1201 views | monmouth | Aye the blackpool collapse is a warning but they were pretty much crap for 22 games and were still unbelievably unlucky to go down with 39 points. No one will be going down with 39 points this season. Also (I had to look this up, I'm not that sad) blackpool only had 18 points from 14 games in their 'golden' period.

Stop saying things that are irrelevant.. we're not Blackpool.. it's not 2011.. and it has no effect on our points total in 2014.. it's probably the most superstitious bollocks bandied around.. you know we're not going down.. I know we're not going down.. almost everyone else knows we're not going around.. it's almost as bad as the 'I was down the the training complex when we were shit.. losing in front of 150 fans against West End'..

Why can they not find someone more insightful and articulate?) that Everton have conceded more goals than Burnley. I can't begin to imagine why that might be, can you?

Newcastle are above us now, and we'll be a lot closer to newcastle at season end, than Chelsea. So, I'd have rather Chelsea had won that game. I want Man City to best Everton for the same reason.
