Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

Hmm...

Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "The scoreline reflects the team that took the chances. During long spells we stopped Swansea from playing. It was an important game for us - for players who haven't played many minutes and to see where they are.

"If you analyse the chances Swansea had, they were few and far between. We had two or three very good situations. In many aspects, I was fairly pleased with that."

Whereas on the other hand the only chances they had were gift wrapped by us to them

How many of you know what DP stands for?

I bet you worshipped him when he was here.

People like you are the ones who get reeled in by the smooth talkers such as Roberto.

I think people may have got reeled in by all he achieved for our club

I'm 'over the moon' with the result and some great attacking moments, but in truth the game was closer than the score suggests. I know everybody will accentuate the positives and that is fair enough, but I wonder what would have happened if Everton had taken one of the several chances we gifted them by passing back to our own half from attacking positions and then losing possession. Yes, keeping the ball with our possession game is important, but I hope Monk works on getting the ball forward faster from good positions, as opposed to continually recycling it to the back four and then passing to an opponent in dangerous territory. My nerves were settled when Ki came on, I thought we then started to thread through telling passes from deep, and an Everton side who had been pushing us all the way looked well beaten.

Two of those mistakes found our wide men in very unusual positions shouldn't happen perhaps a little bit of complacency creeping in.

Good result and JJS and Montero played well, but other wise I thought it was a pretty low quality affair all round.
