Refwatch: Milton Keynes v Rochdale Saturday, 8th May 2021 18:00 by TVOS Referee Tim Robinson will oversee Dale’s final game of the season at Milton Keynes on Sunday. The West Sussex official, who is on the Select Group 2 list of referees usually appointed to Championship fixtures, was promoted the Football League middle for 2012/13, but this will be only his third Dale game. We first saw him at Southend early in the 2017/18 season where Dale picked up a point from a goalless draw. That only tells half the story, though, as Mr Robinson awarded The Shrimpers a first half penalty, which Brendan Moore saved, before later showing a red card to Ian Henderson for a wild challenge. Later that season Tim made his only Spotland appearance to date when Dale took on Millwall in their FA Cup fourth round replay. The reward for the winners was a home tie against Tottenham and this time ‘Hendo’ had a happier experience when he scored the game’s only goal to bring Spurs to Spotland. As mentioned, Robinson is on the Select Group 2 list of referees and has been since its inception in 2016. He has refereed around 150 games in the Championship since then, with his most recent appointment being Sheffield Wednesday v Nottingham Forest last Saturday. Including games in other competitions, Tim has refereed 38 matches this season, showing 120 yellow cards and five reds. Those appointments include four League One fixtures, the last of which was Portsmouth v Gillingham in February.
