Bentley departs Dale Monday, 27th Mar 2023 18:38 by AtThePeake Rochdale have today announced the departure of first-team manager Jim Bentley and his assistant Nick Chadwick. With Dale's relegation from League Two now imminent following Saturday's defeat at Crawley Town, the club have finally answered calls from supporters to remove the manager from his position. Bentley was appointed at the end of August, replacing Robbie Stockdale after a dreadful run of results to start the season. Despite a few glimpses of what could've been however, Bentley has been unable to steady the ship and leaves the club with a win percentage of just 18.91%, picking up just seven victories from his 37 games in charge. While signings such as Danny Lloyd and Toby Mullarkey have offered hope, some poor tactical and personnel decisions have led to further struggles on the field this season, with Dale never looking likely to escape the relegation zone. Jim McNulty will take charge of the first team for the foreseeable future, starting with Saturday's trip to Plough Lane to face AFC Wimbledon.
