Experienced referee Chris Sarginson is the referee for Dale’s trip to Rotherham on Saturday.

Mr Sarginson is in his 12th season on the league list and Saturday will be his 16th Dale appointment and the third in 2019.

In April, Chris took charge for our game at Accrington in which Ollie Rathbone gave Dale a 1-0 win, while at the end of February he was the man in the middle for the 5-1 thrashing at Plymouth.

Fans will remember Ethan Ebanks-Landell was sent-off in that game, but in 2016/17, Sarginson dismissed THREE Dale players in two matches!

Callum Camps was sent-off for two yellow cards against AFC Wimbledon at the Crown Oil Arena, while Joe Rafferty and Donal McDermott saw red in a 3-1 reverse at Peterborough later in the campaign.

So far this season Mr Sarginson has refereed 16 matches, showing 41 yellow cards. His most recent appointment was Leyton Orient v Forest Green a fortnight ago.
