Jenkins Frustration For Bumper Crowd Wednesday, 30th Dec 2009 08:42 Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins was frustrated by the decision to send Albert Serran off on Monday There were almost 19000 in the Liberty most of whom watched in disbelief as Mr Taylor showed Serran the red card for a supposed elbow on his Crystal Palace opponent. And that annoyed the Swans Chairman who believed that it spoiled what was threatening to be a very entertaining match "That decision spoiled a day out for our fans," Jenkins told the Evening Post. "It was a decision which affected the whole game and we have seen a few of those recently. "It's a shame because Monday looked like being a really good game against a good, strong Palace side. "But all of a sudden, when we had nearly 19,000 there, the edge was taken off things. "Referees are put under too much pressure these days to make these decisions when what is needed is a bit of common sense. "In situations like we saw on Monday, defenders are going to make challenges to stop people scoring. "If they can't do that, we might as well stop and see if the striker can beat the keeper. "The whole concept of football is about two teams competing to win a game, and that's what the fans want to watch."
