Ahmed Benali becomes the third loanee to return to his parent club following the departure of Steve Eyre.

Benali's time at Dale will go down as one of the most bizarre in recent years. Having arrived on deadline day with plenty of hype surrounding him, he became something of a bit part player. 

it was over six weeks after joining that he was given his first League outing when he was a second half substitute against Colchester, and this was followed up the week after at Exeter with another appearance off the bench, but that was to his final appearance for Dale.

He leaves Dale after a meeting with Chris Beech during the week in which he was informed that he was very much down the pecking order at the club and as such was unlikely to play for the club.
