Our star-man is facing up to a month out following an appendix op.

Robert Snodgrass has undergone an appendix operation.

Simon Grayson confirmed the Scot had the procedure on Thursday.

With recovery from such operations typically anything up to four-weeks, the loss of our most talented player could not  have come at a worse time in the middle of a three-match mid-winter slump.

"It wasn't something that was planned," Simon Grayson told lufc.com

"We were hoping to keep it quiet until after the team-sheets had been exchanged at Barnsley in order not to alert our opponents.

"We're not putting any timescale on things but hopefully he won't be absent for too long."
