All Walcott does is chase his first touch all over the pitch. Redmond has the record for pointless step-overs and then passing it backwards. Stephens should be playing for Eastleigh. JWP has improved. Ings and Armstrong are quality players. The rest of the team is average. Having said that, Ralph’s tactics do not get the best out of what we have. PS Shane Long couldn't trap a bag of cement. He is the anti- Jimmy Greaves - lots of running and no goals. Redmond is poor in the last third (where it counts). Failed to score in 9 of last 12 home games. The fans deserve better. That's all. |

JWP is dreadful. He only ever recycles the ball backwards and his scoring record is abysmal. All of that could be forgiven if he could put in a tackle. He can't. As for "dead ball specialist" - give me a break. Any pro footballer should be able to take a corner and as far as I am aware he has scored one goal from a free kick. Pathetic. The poster boy of the academy is a fraud. |

Les Reed has consistently sold our best players. Yet he hangs on to dross like JWP in order to foster the illusion that we have a wonderful youth system. Saints have always produced good youngsters - long before the "Barca" model became fashionable. Koeman knew the whole thing was a con. It's simply a way of minimising costs and increasing dividends rather than having our expensive assets on the pitch - which is what the fans would prefer. |

Long, Redmond and Yoshida are all decent Championship players. They are not top class Premiership quality. JWP has been a disaster. Those people who say "well he puts in a good cross" should give their head a good shake. Every pro footballer who practices 5 days a week should be able to do that! The fact is he doesn't create a great deal, he re-cycles the ball backwards, he can't tackle and he hardly ever scores! He has had his chance. Also the whole notion of "rotation" is utterly ridiculous. In the 70s and 80s (when football was a proper contact sport) players performed twice a week. We don't have an abundance of talent in the squad so he needs to pick his best 11. Every game. And Les Reed needs to sign a striker or take full responsibility for the consequences. |
