Beer help !
at 15:46 8 Jun 2015

I'd recommend signing up to beerbods. Subscription service whereby you get one beer a week (delivered every 3 months in a box of 12) and a virtual beer tasting session on twitter every Thursday at 9pm. Or do as I do and drink most of the 12 as soon as they come in.

He made his point fairly well but my response would have been "but it was definitely hand ball!"

"we just need try our best as supporters to ensure that the stadium is as good as it can be."

Just picking up on your final point there MedwayR because you are absolutely right. Up until recently I was lucky enough to work very closely to some key members of the consultant team, I don't anymore but at the time I was able to get some very interesting inside info. Possibly the most important thing that was said to me was that the key players in the project team were invited to the Play Off semi final against Wigan, bearing in mind these people have worked on the highest profile stadium projects in the UK and further afield, they were really taken in by the atmosphere at Loftus Road that evening. My contact at the time was not a QPR fan but he was completely taken in by the atmosphere which he described as the most incredible he'd experienced at a sports event. We can pat ourselves on the back for that. He assured me that the team are paying particular attention to the special character of LR and the atmosphere it creates, so this aspect is a serious consideration and not PR spin. Let's hope it doesn't get lost in value engineering further down the line.

Info for koh samui
at 15:36 5 Jul 2014

2 months is long enough to enjoy a lot of Thailand and potentially other countries such as Vietnam and Malaysia as well. Depends how much travelling you want to do. Koh Tao is the quietest of three east coast islands, Samui the most touristy. I'd personally recommend trying the west coast as well, Phuket and Phi Phi. I loved Phi Phi when I was there but it is also very touristy and dominated by backpacker types.

You can't really go wrong in SE Asia, there is so much choice. If you can, get to Vietnam. A really wonderful country and not as spoilt as parts of Thailand. Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hai Van Pass, and Halong Bay in particular worth visiting as well as the two main cities and Sapa, although Sapa is quite a trek.

It was a few years ago that I went and I'm getting jealous typing this! Enjoy.

Support sounded immense on TV, well done. And yes we could hear you singing to Clint, loud and clear!

Planning permission for Warren Farm confirmed
at 11:31 2 Jan 2014

My understanding is that if the legal challenge is successful, Ealing Council would have to go through the bidding process for the sale of the land again. The challenge alleges that the land was 'gifted' to QPR. The council has to show that it went through the due process for the disposal of public sector land. I dont know if this legally prevents QPR from starting construction but I would assume that it would be foolish to do so until it is known that the land is 100% QPR's.

Essentially what this means is that the legal agreement that accompanies the planning permisson (section 106 agreement) has been signed meaning that planning permission is now in place. Before that we only had a 'resolution to grant planning permission' subject to the signing of the S106.

I believe that the legal challenge is a separate issue which relates to the transfer of the land and still needs to be resolved.

Linford Christie Stadium.

I think that option would be too difficult. SA Road would have to be re routed and it would have to be part of a wider scheme for the White City estate, as would option 2.

Sadly I think option 1 is also unlikely as the site is wanted by a number of high profile bidders.

It's possible that more work has been done since the study I've seen.

I've seen a recent feasibility study and the LC stadium is not one of the three sites identified. The three sites are:

1. Aviva/helical bar site (unigate)
2. White City Estate
3. Loftus Road site, stadium rotated 90 degrees

The LC site was identified a few years back as a possible site for a new indoor youth training centre, but not progressed.

On the Aviva site (Dairy Crest). There is also an option which includes a sliding pitch.

The club need to buy the land first, or come to an agreement with the landowners which is still some way off.

Unigate Site - New Stadium

I do know who one of the other bidders is but I'm not going to say. There may be more but I dont know. Dont know if Chelsea are interested.

This is the preferred site. There are other options locally but not sure how achievable they are.

Unigate Site - New Stadium
at 21:04 29 Jun 2012

The club is currently putting together a bid to purchase this site off Aviva and their development partners Helical Bar. Designs for an impressive stadium (two tiered - stands close to pitch) with other mixed uses are included in the bid. However there are other high profile bidders competing, and I rate QPR's chances of getting this site as less than 50/50. The preferred bidder is expected to be announced in August. Fingers crossed.

My favourite cheese is brie by the way
