| News Comment | Tyler Dibling Disrespected As Newcastle Ready To Pounce at 19:54:43
Such an exciting player. I hope he wants to stay and his agent is realistic. But if not- it’s really not the end of the world. We need players who will bust a gut for us. I hope it’s him - but money talks sadly |
| News Comment | Yorkshire Media Claim That Sheffield Wednesday Battling To Keep Danny Rohl at 09:24:22
Its going to be a tough job, because there's still a long way to go this season, and watching us lose week in week out will mean there wont be an awful lot of goodwill if we struggle next season. I think will be very hard attracting anyone to the job. We almost need a half season fall guy, with a short contract and hit the ground running next year similar to last time. That said I hope we do still have a go at staying up however unlikely |
| News Comment | Enough Is Enough ! Russell Martin Has To Adapt Or Go ! at 12:01:48
Well,I think we can say if it doesnt happen now- he is here to stay this year That was awful Although plenty of humour on the terraces! An key week ahead - we'll probably go on a 6 week unbeaten run now know us! Ok - just kidding! |
| News Comment | Does Shea Charles Prove That Russell Martin's Player Judgement is Flawed at 11:38:17
I think there’s a lot of 20/20 hindsight in this. I don’t recall anyone thinking a loan was a bad idea. Credit should go to Sheffield Wednesday for bringing him on and NI also. Maybe he gets recalled in Jan - but this should be a positive story not another dig to RM Well done Shea! COYR |
| News Comment | Saints Not Afraid Of Sacking Russell Martin Even If They Have To Pay at 22:05:15
RM to stay- some of the managers people are calling for are deluded. He's learnt the right to have a proper bash at the task. If we go down, its not because of limits because we have got the weakest squad. Which is fine. Someone has to be. Next year either we've stayed up and push on or we lick our wounds and rebuild in the Championship. |
| News Comment | Southampton Monitoring Another Championship Manager at 08:25:17
RM has earned the right to a good go at the PL.And I am seeing improvements and a more pragmatic approach.Expectation will always outstrip reality-but he's a good manager and he has turned round a mess that he took over.I hope others will back him-seems that way on the stands. |
| News Comment | The Solution Is Clear For Russell Martin If He Is To Stay In His Job at 11:08:25
I think RM will change things- he's shown that already. Its too early to judge if he will succeed.I hope he will- he's a decent guy who deserves a good shot at it. If he cant adapt, that big squad has a lot of options if another manager wants to change approach. The season is long-lets see how we go! COYR! |
| News Comment | Six Could Potentially Leave Southampton On Deadline Day at 08:59:42
Interesting Not sure I'd want to lose Will and/or Joe for Ings and JWP I think Ings is getting on and unlikely to rediscover the form he showed for us. JWP offers a lot and would be welcomed back as his professionalism and dedication would rub off on the younger emerging players But I would prefer we stick with the two we have, with deserve a chance to improve further |
| News Comment | Southampton And Tottenham Negotiating Player Plus Cash Swap Deal at 08:28:04
Seems good,if it happens But I thinkSaints need to try and rehabilitate Alcaraz back into the team, if possible. He clearly has talent, and we are going to need a lot more to survive at this level. The price point we are buying at, everyone is going to be a bit of a punt, but in Alcaraz, we know we have a potential gem. I'd keep him, if he would stay- but I think thats really the issue- he probably wants out. |
| News Comment | Keep It Simple, Play Your Best Players, Change Little ! Is The Message To Southampton at 08:05:11
I agree Nick, that performance at Leeds was good. Against a tough team (who were obviously falling apart) Unlike nearly everyone - I have a lot of time for Jack Stephens. Sure, you see errors mote so than the other two CB but, in these massive games, you need characters and big voices I like 5 at the back- we're a little bit more protected in the middle, and it pushes the full backs out wider, meaning we are not seeing so many free crosses going in-which has done my head in this season. Also agree about forwards- Ross only as back up- its too risky |
| News Comment | Southampton Sell Out St Mary's For The West Brom 2nd Leg Play Off Semi Final at 21:32:57
Hardly disgusting! We had plenty of notice to buy tickets- it was always going to sell out. What do you want them to do, sell the hospitality tickets for £25 with no food? I'll be at both legs, and I'm thankful to be there, but its after spending a lot of money supporting them. But its my choice, years when I haven't got money, I go less. Or hardly at all. No moaning please! |
| News Comment | No Room For Error In Southampton Promotion Push at 22:37:44
Its probably a bit of a stretch to make the automatics, but 10 games or so to go. I feel we are chasing Leicester- They've been so far clear all season , this is the first time they have been drawn intuit least a whiff of a battle. Be lovely to go into the last day within 3 points of Leeds for the automatics. Not sure my heart can take this! |
| News Comment | Southampton Promotion Campaign Will Go To The Wire at 08:31:08
Drawing Leicester in is not impossible. Due to their brilliant start, they haven't really been under pressure. A couple more poor results and they will start to feel the heat. Having two spots to chase down would be better. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Watford The FA Cup Replay Preview at 09:55:58
Sorry- I disagree-You are playing at home, where fans have paid to support- outside of their season tickets too. By all means make changes- but you try and win. And then you go to Liverpool, and you try and beat them. Beacuse next year, thats exactly what MAY be what we'll be doing- playing Premier league clubs. We seem to be coping very well with the fixtures coming thinking fast- so we go for the win- and try our luck at Anfield. Respect the cup! |
| News Comment | Let The Southampton Transfer Rumour Mill Begin at 18:06:35
Ings is a good punt. Probably more than happy as an impact sub, at a club he thrived at. He's got a good footballing brain, and will have the technical ability to fit in with Martin's style. Apart from that, no real need to dip in. I feel Che will head off, but I wish him well, and hope he flourishes elsewhere. If he stays, great, as he has a good attitude, and works harder than his goal tally. Happy NY to all- |
