Anyone else noted how Craig Dawson, since leaving Spotland, has played for clubs all beginning with the letter ‘W’? West Brom, Watford, West Ham, and Wolves. What are the chances he’ll finish his career with us at Wochdale? ;) |

I'm in complete agreement with D_Alien on this. If we were facing critical games, then appeal. But we're not, and so any money spent on this is money wasted. We need to show the potential takeover investors that we have sound financial prudence, which clearly we have not. What else have we wasted money in the past?....... |

This sounds extremely promising. We must show Sir Peter Ogden and family how we, as supporters, are worthy of his time and energy. I am confident that through the Trust we shall be able to do just that. Up the Dale! |

Interesting responses, thank you. I must confess to have been really irritated by my experience at Vicarage Lane, as I felt the policy was: Unnecessary: what evidence is there demonstrating retention of bags will make for a more secure stadium? Inconsistent: I saw other people in the stadium with larger bags than my own. User Unfriendly: Hassle having to deposit a bag elsewhere and retain it within a small window of time. Suggestive of alternative agenda: Increase sales from food outlets? However: I think I just have to accept it as it appears it is the way football it going. I do miss the days when I'd have a picnic on the Spion Cop at Spotland...... |

Managed to notch up another ground last night at Vicarage Lane, Watford V Norwich City. Bitterly cold, so took a back pack with the usual flask/sarnies/blanket/personal effects, but at the turnstile was told I couldn't enter the ground with a bag larger than A4 size. Backpack had to be deposited at another site in the ground, with a limited post match window in which to collect it. Flask of tea was not permitted to be carried into the ground. Has anyone else had such an experience? Am I to be grateful for such inspired security, or has the football world got too big for it's boots (and bags)? |

I was there last Saturday for their home game against Yeovil Town. Quite a tidy ground, much recent redevelopment, possibly funded from their Cup ties. Really quite small, certainly smaller than Spotland |

Well, I wasn't indeed being entirely serious. Initially. However, reading the various replies above, I do think there could be a benefit to the football community if the rules allowed for greater movement between League Two and the National League. A 'levelling up' of football, if you like. Also, it does seem unfair if the team currently placed second in the National League are beaten to a Football League place by a team 36 points beneath them, in an end of season 'cup competition'. That would effectively mean that 12 wins of their season would be literally 'pointless'. Whilst my suggestion of 4 up 4 down does seem somewhat disingenuous as we head for a Football League exit, I do feel there may be some merit in it's adoption. We shall see...... |

Don’t you think that it’s about time that the rules are changed governing Relegation/Promotion between League 2 and the National League. Seriously, now that so many former league clubs are in the National League? In fact, whilst we are about it, we can rename the National League as League Division Three? I mean, it’s opens up league footbsll to a wider audience……. |

Advertised on Official site. So do we have huge club? Or is the club shop on the very large size? Or is it me, a rather large pedant? Any more grammar police out there? |

Absolutely agree. Although Leicester city on this occasion benefited, VAR reduces the game to a video sport and destroys the spontaneity of goal celebrations. The sooner we get rid of VAR the better, though I can’t see that happening any time soon soon. |

I was at the game today, wonder if there were any other Dale fans there? Very proud for Leicester City, the city having been my home for the last 30 years. It was a wonderful experience being part of a crowd again, and a delight to see the 'underdog' be victorious. Next time, perhaps a Dale victory in a play off final? |

Actually, I think it is bipolar. With schizophrenia, you'd hear voices, but that's not possible without a crowd in the stadium ;) |

Today is a day of shame for the Labour Party. There is clearly no doubt now about the racist anti-semitism in the Labour Party, and the lack of leadership to deal with it under Corbyn. A former Labour leader Michael Foot once wrote the 'longest suicide note in history', the 1983 General Election manifesto. It is my hope that the appalling response to the EHRC by Corbyn, writing within minutes of the commission's 'dramatically overstated' report, becomes the shortest suicide note in political history. It is time the Labour Party is rid of him so that the country has an effective political opposition. |

I take this very personally. The Labour Party has, in my considered opinion, a leader and close colleagues who are indifferent to antisemitism. Whatever you think of their policies on the economy, I cannot stomach a party whom I feel are guilty of such terrible prejudice. Don't tell me it doesn't matter, or they aren't antisemitic, because it does, and they are. |

I absolutely agree with this message, and the sentiment expressed with the lead message above. Rivalry with our neighbors at Bury has been fine, and normal between clubs so close geographically, but seeing their club wither on the vine is an entirely different matter. I was really pleased that our official site printed a prompt message commiserating with Bury and its' fans on Wednesday, and I think we should all show dignity and sympathy with our close neighbors in Bury. I feel really sorry for them. We should wish them well, and offer them our sincere wishes that they will one day, and soon I hope, return to having a successful club who's financial governance steers them into a stable future. As for the original post, that would certainly be one way of expressing these sentiments. After all, it could so easily, more easily,n have been our own club...... Up the Dale, and Good Luck the Shakers! |
