On Saito first half he was moving into the 10 position when we were attacking as we tried to overload the right, he was struggling to find space and often when he got the ball his touch was a bit heavy so he had to keep coming back, with Chair coming back he can get a rest in this Christmas period and I'm sure will coexist back better for it |

We have a tendency in this modern age to have the pitchforks if success is not instant (also applies to the new government). The reality of anyone coming into any new role is they will make mistakes and in the real world that is how you learn and get better at what you do. There is good and there is bad in the recruitment, you can't right all the wrongs in a single transfer window when you have small budget. The issues are less in what we have but in what we dont have. I dont think Marti is without fault in the start either and by sticking with him we have enabled him to correct those mistakes and find a way. I see no reason to change anything at the moment. We need to focus on contract renewals now, and tie down Kolli, Dunne, Cook and Chair for extension. and recruit for a left back and another forward |

I think Saito has had two of his poorest games in the last 7 days and Chair coming back is timely, but despite the assist Chair was still well off his best and is going to need a fair few games given how much he missed including most of pre-season. Still would not be too surprised if he goes in January |

I think he did well, and worked hard. He has really huge balance issues, hence why he falls over a lot or trips over his feet. You would hope someone is working with him 1 to 1 on improving that. You never feel he ever has the ball under control |

really interested in the rule on this, never seen it before, clear advantage to be had if you can move the ball a metre or so back and to the side, much harder to get up and over the wall and on target from where it was marked. Great free kick, though as someone else said if you removed the wall altogether Nardi would have saved it with ease it was not exactly top bins |

If Paal is fit then obviously he plays. Without the ball the team were magnificent again to a man, disciplined, threw bodies at everything with the ball we were terrible particularly out wide, Smyth (goal apart) and Saito with the ball were very poor. Anderson (I actually thought we missed Madsen just for ball retention) worked super hard off the ball but always isolated on it. Personally I think Field and Varane playing together contributes to this, too similar and both too deep yet both magnificent defensively. We were over all very leggy. 30% possession a game is going to do that in a 3 game week |

That first half was the worst half of football I've seen in years, two absolutely terrible sides. 2nd half seemed to be more of the same until the goal and we played pretty well thereafter. We truly always rise or fall to the level of the opponent. 2 good goals from Field who was far too deep first half as was Smyth. Even Saito was poor and you could tell it was going to be like that within minutes if the kick off with everything being so flat. I thought Kolli did well again as did Lloyd when he came on though if there is a player with a poorer sense of balance in this league I'm yet to see it. Cook or Varane MOTM for me |

Chair like any other player should be earning his place back in the team which means good performances from the bench making a difference putting in some assists and then goals. For me Chair has always been better down the left than in the middle so he and Saito should be fighting that out and with the fixture pile up coming possible rotating but the shirt is Saito's for now |

Morgan has been very good at home and was again yesterday, less so away from home. Field clear MOTM last week. What we should be celebrating is the fact that Morgan coming though means we are even having this conversation and that before we talk about Colback who by the sounds of Martis comment we aint going to see until the new year |

Fitness, strength and muscle injuries have all been very questionable this season and if you believe in marginal gains you also have to believe in marginal losses. Accountability gaps can be like a cancer in an organisation and unless the guy is coming back full time then they need to move on |

I think he is fine, he's upped is work rate and is starting to adjust, given the conditions never going to suit his passing style. You'd never have thought we had scored from one of his corners today given some of the comments. Paal only came over to give it a go at an in swinger as the wind was blowing so hard so putting one under the bar made sense as it was it went straight out of play. Everyone fit he is probably 3rd or 4th choice on set pieces after Chair, Anderson and Dembele |

If you watch the full length interview with Marti post match on WLS there are some serious burns thrown by Marti not for the first time too. Not sure all is well |

He was fantastic, what more can you ask for a 19 year old kid coming of the bench. Let's get that contract done He's shown he can make a difference and we need to get 2 good years out of him let him improve further and then maybe he moves on. Its in everyone's interest to close it off, now he proved himself. Edit - The other very useful thing about Kolli today was watching in crowd we were able to measure the wind direction by his hair [Post edited 7 Dec 22:58]

I always struggle with the fact that that people who are most vocal re immigration are also the most vocal re mitigations to climate change like they dont see that the latter will drive the former. But then of course you stop and realise that the UK is on the same Latitude as Alaska, Canada, Sweden and Siberia and if the ice sheets do melt and that cold water stops the Atlantic current or pushes it south, then it will be so bloody cold that no one will want to come here anyway and it all makes a bit more sense. |

Madsen is marmite those who dont like him will call out his inability to tackle or head a ball, the early yellow card (though worse was let go) the miss in the box or the set pieces that were too short or did not come off. Those that are perhaps a little more even handed will point out the numerous times he played a quick first time ball that got us behind Watford or played in Smyth or Saito. That he has an ability to play the ball before the one that leads to the chance. That he pressed much better today. That his free kick shot looked like it was going in without the deflection of the wall, and we had a number of corners that caused chaos (and he is what 4th choice corner taker). He did ok a 6/10 |
