Live footie vs streams/TV
at 17:53 3 Feb 2025

ST in Upper Loft. The game is miles better than streaming every time.
95% of the time, it is what a player does off the ball that impacts a game. you can't see that on TV. I get more stressed watching at home than being in the ground.

Totally agree. It is all about risk management and reducing that risk to QPR.
All of our signings since Nourry came in have been young, under 24/25, so risk is reduced.

For too long, players have taken the pissh out of our club, we now have someone willing to push back.
If it is a battle of wills between Dunne and Nourry regarding contract length, then I think it is in our clubs interest that Nourry wins. And he will.

He has no resale value whether he is 30 or 31 so the club, quite rightly, tries to reduce its exposure.

Nourry works for the best interest of QPR not the players who are commodities and assets.
Would the club now go out and buy a 27yo and give him a 4 year deal + 1? Highly unlikely as too much risk.

Don't forget, Dunne has had 12 good months out of 48, that's not that good.
If he stays and signs the deal the club have put in front of him then great. If not, then we cash him in.

Looks like Dunne staying. Hmmmm a bit disappointed if he doesn't go now as he'll probably go for free in 4 months time.

We can't say the club have failed not getting Dunne to sign a new deal. Maybe Dunne doesn't want to stay, which is more likely, as he wants more money.
Maybe he wasn't offered a new deal as the club doesn't see him fitting in the way MC wants to play. He certainly was surplus after Millwall away this time last year.

If he goes, big deal, we will replace him with a better player. I wish him luck.

Younger, cheaper and better.

Wait until Field is sold in the summer to see a further meltdown on LFW.

Pah! Let's see him do any of that fancy stuff against Preston away next December.

Seriously though, he looks technically very good, just hope he can defend.

Cook will probably be released in the summer anyway. Yes, I would want Field and Smyth sold.

They just are not very good footballers, like Dunne. They all work very very hard to make the most of their talent, and Taylor Richards should look at them to see what he should be doing, so I'm not questioning that.
My issue is that if we want to be pushing for promotion we can't be constantly giving the ball away. Dunne, Cook, Field and Smyth do and we'll never move forward whilst relying on that type of player.

So yep, I'm hopeful we will have upgrades in the summer on all of them.

Really?
What clubs over the past 4 years has shown any interest in signing Dunne? None.
He has had 1 good year out of 4, and that is down to the coach. Marti & Nourry deserve a fcking medal each if we can get £2m for him.

I like my players to have a little more than being able to head and tackle and thump their chest/badge, but the bar has been pretty low for the past few years. I can see why some fans think he is great, and why Wilder wants him.

If we can sell Dunne, release Cook, move Morgan to replace Field, and find a replacement for Smyth we will be 100x a better team.

He can't pass, he is not good technically and not that quick. Bumped out to right back because he is ropey down the centre.

Players like this don't improve your team. He isn't even going to Sheff Utd as a first choice, he's being bought because Wilder can't possibly play a few games without his first choice centre backs.

Jesus, 17 pages about a player leaving. He isn't even very good, yet some on here are behaving like we are selling Messi.

Grab the money and run.

What a ridiculous post.

Signed Dunne for free, selling him for £2m. How is that measly for a player with 6 months left on his contract? And that is classic example of buying cheap, developing talent and selling for a large profit.

How do you know he was looking to go nowhere? No one knows what discussions, if any, have taken place between the club and player.

Why did Dunne not playing have any bearing on that result? Their goals came down our left-hand side, between Paal and Fox. Millwall targeted that area.

Cook, Fox and Field are not suited to playing passing football. Constantly giving it away.

Hopefully bounce back, and I think we will. Tough 1-0 win or a draw, just can't make my mind up.

He will be off for a bigger club, no question. However, with Nourry, I think we will get a good replacement in.

We will already have replacements on a shortlist. I'll be sad when Marti goes.
