Frey Goal
at 10:56 7 Jan 2025

VAR didn't disallow Newcastle's outrageous equalising goal at Spurs which wouldn't have been possible without a very obvious handball.

That said, Frey certainly didn't immediately celebrate so probably expected it might not count. Their defence didn't really appeal for anything. You see far more attempts at this for obviously legitimate goals all the time.

Your best and worst ever QPR moment witnessed as a fan and as an armchair fan !!
at 00:29 6 Jan 2025

Best in person probably the Sansom goal v Arsenal in the cup. Armchair has to be Zamora, around 2am here when it went in. The dog, being the only other awake animal in the house, was quite concerned for my welfare given my reaction.

Agree with the person above on Cardiff scoring in extra time. I was listening to a radio broadcast online while my brother and several mates were at the game. Devastated, it felt like we might be condemned to the 3rd/4th divisions forever in that moment. In person it has to be the complete no show at Wembley in 86 when a trophy was there for the taking.

I always wondered why so many Irish supported United. My dad did too. but was never that committed to it and living near QPR was a regular at LR when younger and still goes now and again with my brother. He also was one of the few who bet on a QPR win when we won 4-1 at Old Trafford. He told me before the game and I laughed at him.

They won't go down, not even close. Today's point at Anfield shows that.

They are hugely affected by injuries at the moment, especially in defence.

I keep thinking Luton have to be better than their league position suggests. Hopefully they don't show that on Monday.

Totally agree on Bondi. I was completely underwhelmed the first time I saw it given how well known it is. We moved down there and stayed in a place across the road from the beach for a couple of months.

That was in the 90s and it is worse now as it has become trendy and "gentrified", meaning it is full of tossers as well as not being that great a beach. It still manages to somehow remain quite tacky looking though.

The bridge and Opera house though certainly do live up to expectations. The Opera bar is a great place to have a beer, especially for tourists.

New Zealand is just ridiculously beautiful. I've only been to the south island. Queenstown is stunning but so is pretty much everywhere else you go there.

If you go to Cairns, Palm Cove is only about 15 mins away by car and a beautiful place to stay. Cairns itself is unremarkable but a good base for exploring the barrier reef.

That Palace game is a good call. I was 12 and in the paddock seats with my dad quite near the away end.

They had been giving Allen pelters all game and when he ran down to their end to taunt them after scoring they did not like it at all. The last few mins featured several attempts at pitch invasions and menacing chants about us getting our "fcuking heads kicked in".

Being in the paddock seating it was fairly quick getting out at the end. I distinctly recall on the car radio on the way home the reporter talking about both sets of fans invading the pitch at the end and being "quite happy to kick the hell out of each other".

The Pizanti game was terrific, especially as we'd lost to them a week or two before and I worked with a lot of West Ham fans at the time. Game delayed for an hour due to a load of forged tickets.

I'll also mention our first win at Highbury in 83. Knew we belonged in the top division after that one. Another is the opening day 3-0 at West Ham which started a decent run at the top of the league.

Second half of the 4-1 v Spurs was the best I've seen us play live. Absolutely murdered them. Also the 2-0 cup win v Arsenal and any number of wins against Chelsea.

From a non QPR perspective, a Spurs v Arsenal league cup semi final in the late 80s stands out. It went to a third game as level after the usual 2 legs. I think Spurs got home advantage on a coin toss.

I was in the Arsenal end with a work mate. Terrific atmosphere with both sets of fans in full voice. Spurs led for much of the game until Arsenal got two late goals to win it. Absolute pandemonium in our end, bodies everywhere.

An epic night for sure. We took a large following to Highbury for the 0-0 there before this replay.

I'd recently started seeing a girl who didn't like football. A mate I had a ticket for said he couldn't make it and I offered it to her as a joke. To my surprise she accepted and absolutely loved the experience despite getting drenched in the Loft.

Nothing club who other than more time in the prem than us in recent history have done what exactly? Certainly not bigger than us and have no right to try and act like they are.

For me coldest was Forest away in the 80s. The game also featured a 4 minute Nigel Clough hat trick and a disallowed QPR goal in a 4-0 defeat. Also travelled there and back to London with a Forest mate. I've had better days.
