Been meaning to post regarding for a while now, but I was out running in an old Dale shirt a week or two ago along the A556 Hartford - Northwich area, when someone shouts "Keith Hills Barmy Army!" at me. If there's any other Daley's in the Northwich area, make yourself known! I know there are Daley's in Cheshire (SMAC for example), I'm just curious as to who was in this car.

In the first season in League 1 in Hill's first spell in charge, I remember commenting on the standard of Referee's, and the big difference in quality between a League 1 Ref and a League 2 Ref. But this season we have had some truly woeful Referee's. The fella today wasn't great, but not the worst we've had this season either. Just seems the standard of Referee's has dropped since the 2010/11 season. |

I know there's already a few threads knocking about on who we want to keep / release, but could anyone post a list of who is actually under contract next season, and who's contract's are expiring at the end of the season. Be nice to look at the big picture and see what we've got, and what we can afford to lose (regardless of what league we are in come August). |

I'm a student in Newcastle and haven't been to a game home or away since the Charlton home game on the 17th September... and I cannot wait to get back!
There seems to be a lot of negativity around the club at the minute, and maybe it's cos I haven't been to a game in a while but I'm still buzzing; We are League One after all!
Not much makes me happier than being at Spotland on a match day, no matter how sh!te we play and whether we win, draw or lose I always look forward to getting back there for the next home game, or away game (If I can afford it!)

Thread | Englishmen playing for Scotland, Wales, etc.. thoughts?

Having just seen that Jordan Rhodes has been turning out for Scotland under 21's, I thought I'd see what others think of Englishmen playing for other countries in the UK.
The list is pretty big now, with Matthew Gilks, Phil Bardsley, James Morrison, Craig Mackail-Smith, Kris Commons and probably more playing for Scotland despite being English-born. There are a few for Wales like Freddy Eastwood and Jack Collison off the top of my head, and then Rory McArdle for N.I. although I bet there are more.
I would NOT want anyone who isn't born or bred in England playing for England. Like when there was talk of Cudicini or Almunia sorting out our goalkeeper crisis a few years ago, I didn't want that.
And seeing Englishmen, albeit Englishmen who in my opinion aren't good enough for the England team playing for Scotland, Wales etc, It just doesn't seem right to me. Don't go playing for Scotland or whoever just because you aren't good enough for England. If I was Scottish I would want Scot's playing for my country, not someone from Mansfield or Watford. |

Whatever happened to him? I thought he was on trial with us, or was that all rumour?
And I remember Stephen Jordan's name cropping up a while back, but seeing how we have Widds, Twaddle and Pim who can play left back, I cant see a deal for him happening. |

Any idea why Darby was dropped for Trotman? I like Darby, I think he's a bit of a coup for the club to be honest and I havent seen him do anything that badly in a game that has been too costly. Whereas Trotman.. I wasnt at Oldham so cant comment on that but what I've read on here isnt complimentary of him.
The other thing is having been to quite a lot of games this season, league and cup, and in particular I noticed against Charlton, we seem to be conceding a lot of goals from set pieces, where the opposition's movement is good and they end up with simple headers. Having just seen the Shots and Notts highlights, there was a goal in each game conceded from a set piece. It needs addressing, and I am sure it is.

2011-12 - Premiership - Norwich
2010-11- Championship - Norwich
2009-10 - League 1 - Norwich
2008-09 - League 2 - Shrewsbury
Wonder how many other played have done this? |
