Why let the facts get in the way of an X post. It doesn't bother Elon.

And on the subject of manifesto pledges not being kept, what are Reform's policies on net zero?

We don't know. But it was clearly in the manifesto and in media highlights of the manifesto. Labour won a mandate to govern on that basis. They delivered on a manifesto promise.

The speed limit was stupid but the petition wasn't ignored it was just vastly smaller than the those who voted for the speed limit to be imposed or didn't vote at all despite it being made clear. Public opinion has now led to a change in policy.

The problem is that people are now comparing completely unrelated topics. The first post calls this "virtue signalling". It's obviously not and nobody has been ignored.

My personal opinion (as an owner of an ex racing greyhound) is well done. It's time for this sport to be banned across the UK.

They didn't define it, they should have as it stood it was a stupid pledge.

An honest manifesto would have said something like

"we've inherited a shit show, it's going to cost a fortune to put right, we've all got to pay and you probably won't notice a difference for 10 years or so"

None of them will do that because nobody would vote for them.

This government is a poison chalice. Labour haven't been great but they've done ok (ISH).

We're skint and need to raise an awful lot of money. There's no easy or popular way to do it.

I'm not championing them at all. They haven't done a great job, but are an improvement and are the only realistic alternative to a Tory / Reform coalition which would be a disaster.

They haven't lied based on their manifesto.

He sounds ok but is he what we need at the moment?

He's got a very small CV and heading in to a championship relegation battle. His statistics aren't the best either.

Don't think so. He shouldn't have taken them but no broken promise there.

They haven't directly raised taxes on working people. A stupid promise though.

Every government is a government of service.

There aren't VIP fast lanes.

Any examples of Cronyism?

A hardly think the national mood can be lifted in a few months.

What 5 major promises have Labour broken?

The problem and all we have to judge Reform on is their current manifesto. It's just a pile of unworkable, uncosted, unrealistic and bankruptcy inducing guff. What aspects of it do you support?

Of course they'll change it. They're populists.

It's better that people are interested in politics, hopefully they'll realise Reform are taking people for a ride before they get to enact any of their pipe dreams.

Well the only time he's made promises/pledges that have made their way in to reality are post Brexit.

An embelished CV pales into insignificance compared to those whoppers.

They're all the same to a certain extent, none of them are totally honest. If they were they wouldn't get elected. But nobody makes fasle promises like Farage, he's a populist.

I'm totally certain. You just need to read Reform's contract/manifesto.

They're a party telling the people what they want to hear. They can't deliver it. They're basically lying.

Farage doesn't do anything for anyone else but himself.

Reform don't need to be in a position to fail for you to be able to see through them.

At the last Senedd election there were about 1.2 million individual votes for parties with a 20 mph speed limit in their manifesto.

The petition may have been officially ignored, but Welsh Labour obviously realise they've made a massive mistake and are changing some roads back.

If people actually voted though, we wouldn't have 20 mph limits everywhere or a Labour led Senedd.

It's not required to be provided from Wales. Areas of England are equally wet. We aren't going to make cash selling water to England.

Reforms manifesto states that private health providers and insurers will be given tax relief.

Aside from that they don't say how they'd reform the NHS except making staff exempt from paying tax (and therefore employers) and invest £17 billion they don't account for.

Pie in the sky.

It is looking bleak.

Reform should be unelectable, I get a protest vote but there's a decent chance these morons could end up with a degree of power. We do need change and Wales biggest problem is two of the biggest parties aren't far off identical. The UK's biggest problem is the media.

The UK desperately needs a new centrist party or voting/political reform.
