The way I see it supporting the Dale is a bit like being a parent. You're not just behind them as long as their doing well, you have to dig in when they're going off the rails a bit and doing things you wouldn't want them to do. That's what makes me :-/ about some of the abuse that gets shouted from the stands at the players (Lillis especially) while the game's on. Surely we should be trying to encourage the players, like you would your kids. Not trying to make them feel like losers. That's the opposition fans' job. That's just the way I see it. I'm not trying to suggest everyone has to think like that. It's your life, I can't live it for you! |

Thought JK and Grimes seemed to be in each other's positions a lot last night. A good few times when JK was the furthest man forward and Grimes was 10-15 yards back, which felt a bit odd. Did think Grimes had a good game though. Finally got in for one of those 50/50 headers, their fella went under him, Grimes hit the deck. Free kick to them. Anywhere else on the field that would've been a free kick for us. |

Knew I should've looked further back in the match thread to see if it'd already been covered! |

Our George on Twitter "Deserved the win tonight! Not gonna lie, they were dog sh*t Got to build on that and Bring on Saturday! #RAFC" Can't argue with him, they were turd. If we'd been playing a team of L2 quality we probably would've been beaten. |

Your nephew and niece have got funny names. 4 & 5! Is it an homage to Beckham's lass Windows Seven, or whatever she's called. |

"It's not run to make a profit" doesn't mean it's run to make a loss. It means the intention is to break-even. Thereby providing the cheapest viable service to fans. If the coach can't break-even then the club shouldn't run it at a loss, and if it makes a profit this should be used to reduce future costs to fans. It's not to say 'the goal isn't to make a profit, and making a loss achieves that goal, so we should run loss-making coaches'!. |

The problem with the 'adding an extra 1%' argument is that you've still got the same donkey of a CB who can't control it. He may be able to run 1% further and be 1% stronger, etc. but if he mis-controls a pass and that lets the opposition striker clean through then his extra 1% is worth FA. Unfortunately at our level the number of basic mistakes/inadequacies mean that adding 1% is, in the grand scheme of things, pointless. For a real life example - if you make Jon Boardman 1% fitter, you've still got Jon Boardman, just a 1% fitter (not better) version. |

British tennis is just lucky that his mum had him before she started batting for the other side! |

They need to be scouse so they can understand what JC is saying as the club won't stump up for an interpreter! |

If it's not something to the tune of 'Copacabana' I'll be disappointed! |

Careful! If you start thinking like that them that have been coming for years will complain that you're pandering to those that have been coming 5 minutes while they've been coming for 50 years man and boy! Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I would offer this to the debate though.. |

I still have it in the back of my mind that the backwards header he did over Sam Russell away at Rotherfield that levelled the score at 2-2 when we were cruising for a win ended up being significant in some way - either cost us playoffs or spoilt some kind of run of form. - having now looked back through the stats it doesn't appear that's true. It must just have been my faith that was finally eroded. |

Westport have pulled a voting rabbit from some hat somewhere. Looks like we might have peaked too soon! |

Nice one cheers. Not sure my nerves are gonna hold out until midnight! Hopefully they'll take the numbers off-line later so I won't be able to stay up all night pressing F5!! Thanks again to everyone who's helped/helping! |

Thanks again for that. Yeah I really like Westport too. It was the closest place (30 mins drive) to where my sister was in Leenane before she moved out to Clifden to set up her own business. When visiting I used to go to Westport when I arrived and have a few obligatory Guinness's while waiting for my sister to finish work and come and get me! Loved it! |

That's brilliant Judd, thanks for posting that. The poll closes at midnight tonight. We're still about 50 in front at the minute - but I think the rules say you can vote once per day, so if you (anyone) has a another minute they can donate, we'd really welcome your clicks! For anyone interested - and I appreciate not many of you will be looking for info on outdoor activities on the West Coast of Ireland, the twitter account I'm about to 'improve' (lol(??)) is @realconnemara Thanks y'all again! |
