| Forum Reply | How many points will we take from our next 3 games (S'land H, M'bro H, Leeds A)? at 13:40 28 Oct 2024
A decent transfer window in terms of stats from lower European Leagues. However, unfortunately the Championship, as it is, doesn't take any prisoners and the two players who we forked out most money on play with about as much strength as a couple of inmates from Guantanamo Bay. Consequently, together with one or two injuries we are now operating with 8 or 9 players fit-for-purpose in the Champiosnhip and 3 kids from the Development Squad. We will give it a go from the start on Saturday and the keeper, back four and CDM's are quite resolute but the ball invariably comes straight back from our 3 ACM's and CF and you won't need Keith Stroud to keep you in the game this time. |

Why wasn't Kolli on the bench ? He played in the week and scored didn't he ? [Post edited 26 Oct 19:49]

Far worse than Dykes. Dykes would be moving into space and making himself available in these circumstances. Celar gives us nothing. |
| Forum Thread | False number nine at 23:13 24 Oct 2024
There's no point in playing Celar up top on his own on Saturday. When the ball gets booted up to him if we ever get out he will be out-muscled and out-paced and it will not stick. Then, if we can create any chances, again he is not going to beat the centre backs. We might be better off with a false number nine ten yards deeper to link with Chair, Smyth and Dembele and try to thread one of them through. Who could play in that position ? My choice would be Kolli but maybe Andersen or even Madsen could give it a go ? [Post edited 24 Oct 23:16]

Good interview The challenge, however, is to keep us playing at the same tempo and to eradicate the pointless sidewards and backwards passing in the first two thirds |

I'm not sure Celar will be any good as part of a front two either. Hasn't got a turn of pace or seems unable to dart between players. If we were to go two up front Dembele or Chair would be better. |
| Forum Reply | Celar - Nothing Again at 14:11 23 Oct 2024
I have no idea why we bought Celar. The way we are set up, we need a lynch pin in the box for our three ACM's to operate through. First half yesterday, when Smyth, Dembele or Chair were on the ball about 30 yards out, Celar was not moving into space or dropping deep to create space behind. He was just rooted next to the centre backs. Not what we need at all. |

I wonder why he got released by Spuds ? Looks a much better prospect than other Spurs off-casts we have had such as Carroll, Pedder, Oteh, the list goes on |

Just want to echo the above comments. Saito was excellent. Should be first name on the teamsheet, at LWB for this Saturday. Amazing guts and determination for such a small player. Get 10 others like him and Paul Smyth in the team and we will be OK. |

Sam Field good for me. Really strong when it counted in the second half. |

All we need to do is to turn the pitch round Nardi's movement in the area is all we need at the other end |

I loved every second of it. But what would have been better would have been if the club had somehow organised the players to do a Hall of Fame for him at the end of this walk |

I hate Sky TV and would never subscribe but the reality is that without the TV money we would be even more f*cked. Can't have your cake and eat it .... [Post edited 21 Oct 12:02]

Great post. I don't have any family and am always envious of those who go with family as I can see that it is a really unifying experience, even if the football is w*nk. One thing from the O.P. though, I reckon the kids will remember the scoreline in years to come. I remember QPR 2 Stoke 0 from my first game even though it is 48 years ago. |

I think we need to stop binning off our strikers. Dykes, Armstrong, Frey, Celar, we are not going to get any better without any dosh. Frey is doing very well. I actually think Celar has got better but he's been in a no-win situation coming into games when we are down, there is desperation throughout the team and the oppositon are able to park the bus and waste time so that he gets next to no opportunities. Stop making mistakes at the back and the midfield three to hold and use the ball better. Those must be our immediate priorities. [Post edited 20 Oct 13:46]

He is a good man and he gets it. The players need to stop chancing it and to get us out of this mess. Go with the good, strong characters on Tuesday, Marti. |

But only QPR could sign a couple of Scandinavians who are unable to operate on a cold wet winter evening |
