But that's exactly how the law works. You nod off for a second at the wheel and jolt yourself awake, no crime. You nod off for a few more seconds and plough into the barriers, reckless driving. You nod off for a few more seconds, plough through the barriers and onto a train track, causing an oncoming train to derail and causing the death of some of the passengers, you are charged with manslaughter. Same crime, different consequences different punishments.
Stoke have only had 1 defeat in the last 8 and that was away to joint leaders Sheff Utd. If the grand fromages are intent on pulling the trigger then they might as well wait until we lose at home to Oxford (who haven't won away all season). If things haven't picked up by then and we do lose, hard to argue against it but would still prefer to see Nourry pack his bags first.
With what we have to play with and Stoke's recent form, can't see past this finishing 1-2.
You're in the middle of brushing your teeth and your electric toothbrush suddenly stops working. For a split second you think "shit, how am I going to brush my teeth now?"
As I said, I was impressed at the restraint shown on both sides but when I saw that charmr had responded with “Project 2025, fancy that where you live?” to Sonofpugwash post “Can't help laughing after last night and all the lefty tantrums and meltdowns. Got a nice bottle of bubbly on ice for tonight's celebrations. God bless America.” (The two posts immediately preceding mine so easy to miss). I immediately grabbed my popcorn and settled in for another 35 page wánkfést but then I said “Oi! No! The Guvnor don't want none of that politic stuff in this gaff, take it outside!”.
Thanks for reminding us all that no good deed goes unpunished.
I want to applaud the restraint on both sides to avoid diving into another never ending Trump debate. It's the last thing Clive wants and we all know (having participated in a few of them) neither side will move an inch. So for my part I will not be mentioning his name again and hope everyone respects Clive's wishes and we stick to the football and any other random shit that comes to mind.
The second half of last season showed what Marti could do. If the first half of the season had mirrored the second we would have been in the play-offs so I'm hesitant to bin him off too quickly. Nourry on the other hand, I think his play-by-numbers shtick has been truly found out and he needs to go asap. If we can loan out the league one players he signed in January and replace them with some experienced Championship players (bang average will be fine), we might scrape 21st...and we go again.
Having correctly predicted the 1 - 3 to Hull I am confidently following that with a 0 - 1 to us. Jimmy Dunne with a back post header back across the goal that accidentally drops under the bar and into the far corner. You know it makes sense.
As we are talking about kids poems...you know that scene in The Shawshank Redemption where Morgan Freeman's character says to the parole board “So you go on and stamp your form sonny and stop wasting my time because to tell you the truth, I don't give a shit”? Well, one year every student in my sons school had to write a poem and to put it politely, he wasn't best pleased. As he stared out the window desperately trying to think of what to write, he eventually thought, fcuk it, I'll just write what I am thinking.
At this point I should add that he went to a French school near Barcelona (stay with me) and he didn't particularly like French let alone poetry. If you can understand French, it scans better as it loses a bit in translation but this is what he wrote...
Should I be worried? Too late now, this was six years ago.
And like the parole board, the poetry boffins loved it!. He had an all expenses paid trip to Paris to pick up an award for coming third in the 'rest of the world' (schools outside of France) category and it's now in a book on his shelf....never wrote another poem, obviously.
