Enough is Enough SPORT REPUBLIC OUT
at 18:00 23 Sep 2023

Maybe we should blame our supremo Jason Wilcox also after all he sold players to the tune of 160 million, and only signed four loanee, and four permanent players in manning ,Charles , stewart, and the lad from arsenal. i am told he wanted martin also because he believes he the man to take this club forward. Well let's hope he starts that process soon or we might start looking like relegation fodder

Southampton V Ipswich Town The Verdict
at 11:31 20 Sep 2023

For me the line up was wrong, having just suffered a humiliating defeat against Leicester the line up only having one change in airibo which was a strange one.
Changes had to be made with bednerek coming back to central defence, Alcaraz, And Stuart Armstrong coming in to midfield to bolster the middle of the park , it was evident once these players were introduced after half time we become more of a threat going forwards, we are having the same problem as last season because the manager is not selecting his strongest side when they are available for selection.
Stop experimenting with two youngsters trying to implement your slow ponderous
Insistence of playing from the back in all situations if in doubt Shea Charles kick it long, this style is costing us dearly at the moment, we have the players Mr Martin so on occasions can we go direct like Sunderland did to us and it could paid dividends

What are the club waiting for?
at 21:46 6 Feb 2023

Apparently rasmus ankersen a long time admirer of Jones, wanted him at Brentford, when he was on the board there, but Brentford eventually stuck with their then interim boss Thomas Frank's in 2018, a decision that has paid off handsomely.
Apparently Rasmus was delighted to have eventually landed him at Southampton. Now We are to expect some radical changes from Jones with flying wing backs and high tempo football and a preferred 4.4.2 formation. So now he will take charge of the squad and do it his way without any interference from some of the senior squad and take the attitude of my way or the highway, I will sink or swim if the results don't improve, so the wolves game is a massive game nothing else but a win will do or it may well be the highway for Mr Jones.

Time to get angry
at 23:25 4 Feb 2023

This morning I had a positive feeling that we could at least get a draw against a well managed Brentford side after our recent narrow defeats against Newcastle and Aston villa. But my mood change when I saw the team sheet. How on earth could bree benarek elyounoussi and diallo start ahead of caleta car, Bella kotchap, miilav orsic and alcaraz. To make things worse caleta,Bella and orsic were in the b team and never made the squad . It's the same scenario as Ralph not playing your best team and to see Walcott coming off the bench tell you that Jones has lost the plot. Sports republic gambled on Jones instead of getting dyche an experienced manager at this level. One week at Everton and he organised them to beat top of the league arsenal with out any new players , this tell me it's all about team management, and getting the best out of your players, not about spending millions and not knowing how to organise your best team in a system into a winning side, sadly Nathan Jones does not have the ability or the experience at this level to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal. I blame ramus ankersen for believing he is the great football supremo, and likeing him to Rupert Lowe who also believed he knew more about football than experience mangers, do anyone remember poortvliet and Lowe vision on playing youngsters and relegation to league 1. Ramus has had some success at Brentford in helping to guide them to the premiership but how much was that down to getting the right man the brentford present manager. I hope i am completely wrong and jones can turned it around and save us from relegation, I will be back on the ugly to praise him because I want him to succeed but for now I have my doubts.

Who was the first black player to play for saints
at 07:56 8 Oct 2022

I was discussing with an argyle fan regarding Jack Leslie, the first black player to be selected for England, but never actually played a competitive game, then he asked me who was the first black player to play for saints, and I couldn't answer him. So
Historians out there can anyone answer the question. Many thanks

Why experiment with djenepo and Valery in defence. Djenepo fine going forward, but he is no defender, and valery was very poor. You have to start with your strongest side surely Perraud had to start the game, it’s seems Ralph likes to tinker with the side with players who could not get into the side last season. I know we have lynaco and Bella Kottcha in the squad, but it seems it’s going to be a long season again if today showing is any thing to go by, well it’s early days and we can only
Live in hope things can only get better, but don’t count on it with the Austrian tactician at the helm.🤞🤞

Forster
at 18:13 26 May 2022

I agree fozzy has repaid us this season and if you remember he was the man of the match in games we were not expected to gain any points, and I refer to Man Utd away 1.1man city at home1.1 and arsenal home 1.0, where he was unbeatable on the day. Ok it made sense for him and the club to move on as at 34 years he is nearing the end of his career, and the club had to look to the future with Getting a younger keeper as a replacement. But to say he not a pL player well ask arteta of arsenal he might have a different opinion.Yes he had his faults he was not perfect but having said that so has Pickford,he let in some stinkers this season, and he is England’s number one. So the opinion on here is he’s dead average well just remember if we had not gained those five unexpected points at games I previously mentioned then we would have gone down as Burnley had a better goal difference than us , I for one will wish him well all the best big man.

Fraser Forster has been a good servant to this club, ok a lot of supporters think he was a greedy
Money grabber when he would not lower his wages, well would you ? He was at his best under koeman playing some blinders, especially in a 0.0 draw at Liverpool some seasons ago. Yes Father Time has caught up with him now he is in his thirties, but he has still played his part in important games against Man Utd , Man City, and against arsenal ,vital points that kept us out of a relegation scrap.
So I agree it’s time to move on big man, and maybe some club will use him as a back up keeper. But I for one will wish him well in the future, maybe not everyone favourite keeper at st Mary’s but on his day he was a bloody good keeper, far better than Alex McCarthy, so saints will have to get a very good keeper for next season because if Alex is our number1 we will be struggling again this time next year.

What a totally gutless performance again, if you’re not playing for the manager, then play for the badge, show some respect to the paying fans who have paid good money to watch this crap. I have supported the saints for many years, and seen many poor performances, but this lot don’t give
A crap, it seems once they got to 40 pts they all booked their holidays and are going through the motions not to get injured. Thank god villa done us a favour today, yet another season of under performing with no ambition to even try to get near a euro place, I am afraid it has come to the end of the road for some players, even some of them who think they are good enough but they are kidding themselves, maybe a season to far for Ralph also, the new board must invest substantially if we are going to avoid a relegation scrap next season.

We just aren't good enough - Ralph's own words
at 22:21 1 May 2022

What was evident yesterday, palace wanted it more than saints, once we scored we thought we could nick a 1.0 win, apart from a few poor shots from s Armstrong I cant remember us troubling their keepers that much, che Adams had a poor game, and has been poor in his finishing where he should have scored in many games of late, Shane will give the effort but rarely Looks like scoring , so we are relying on goals coming from midfield and JWP special free kicks.Yesterday we were second best on many challenges, and although Fraser had an off day, he has been performing well of late behind defenders that failed to do the basics.he would have expected our centre backs to have got the block in for the palace winner, even if you have one of the best keepers in the country in Pickford it makes no difference if your defenders are not doing their job ,hence Everton are in a relegation fight even with Pickford between the post. We must man up now and get a result at Brentford, because the magic forty points may not be enough this season.

Funny that ,if you look at the list of players who have represented England while playing for saints,
For example Danny ings, who has not been selected since he left us. Walker peters still at saints,
Bertrand, Lambert, lallana, Clyne, McCarthy, Forster, JWP, the list is endless James will definitely be selected for the World Cup , Southgate would be a fool not to select the best dead ball player in the country, if you are good enough and in form you will be selected for England irrespective who you play for at club level, in fact if Danny had stay at saints, and scored 20 plus goals he would have been in contention for a place in the squad.

Ralph Out
at 22:53 5 Dec 2021

Surely it was McCarthy responsibly to inform the bench he had a problem by going down so that the medical team could come on to assess the damage ,then they could single to the bench to make a change . I do not think Ralph could be blame for that, the main problem was the poor pass by JWP he could have kick it out of play deep into Brighton half with only a minute to play that was just a suicide pass giving Brighton the chance to counter when they should have been dead and buried. But in truth we should have been 3 nil up and the game should have been over. Until we can turn our superiority in stats into goals then we will continue to struggle, there were times yesterday when a simple pass to another player in the box in a better scoring position then the game could have been over by half time , broga is a fine young player, and he was my MOTM, but he must learn not to go for the glory when a team mate maybe in a better position to score.

McCarthy is costing us points
at 11:00 27 Aug 2021

IN my opinion Forster is the better goalie even at his age of 33 years. Obviously Father Time has caught up with him. But under koeman and puel he served us well, helping us to quality for Europe finishing in our highest position in the premiership under koeman, and getting us to the league cup final without conceding a goal until the final.he still holds the record for having successive clean sheets in a season I believe. On the argument of his wages Reed gave him that contract is it his fault? the club at that time obviously thought he was worth it.would any of us take a reduction having agreed on a contract I wouldn’t . In today terms 70,000 is peanuts compared to some average players receiving much more for their limited ability . He will probably play second fiddle to McCarthy this season due to Mac signing a new 3 year contract. But when called upon he will do a good job as his understudy I am sure.

I suppose if we are taking about Unacceptable comments of people dying, then the comments by a Labour councillor that quoted what a shame the pandemic didn’t come before the EU referendum,
Then the old leave voters would have been dead, and we would still be in Europe. Not a word of condemnation by Keir Starmer . Both comments are disgraceful, but my point is people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. I am not going on about politics on this site, let’s keep it for football In my opinion, there are other sites I can have a rant on politicians, most are hypocrites on all sides of the political spectrum .
