Probably an unpopular viewpoint but I think getting rid of Martin will make no difference. The team isn't strong enough mentally or skills-wise for the PL. There's also no point in us splashing any cash in Jan seeing as we've almost exclusively bought dross in the past in Jan.

The gulf between the two sides was massive. Bournemouth will most likely finish bottom half.
I don't fault Martin for setting up differently to start with. It was working pretty well and Bournemouth were surprised. Their first goal killed us, which shows how mentally weak we are (a common theme in recent years). One of the Bournemouth players said that they'd planned that free kick because we don't reset quick enough. That's ultimately a Martin fault but surely the players should be alert? The rest of the first half was terrible. Second half better but immaterial as Bournemouth were cruising. We don't have many players of PL quality, so I'm unclear what sacking Martin would achieve. Potter would be an upgrade.
Have to play lallana as much as possible. Stewart looks good.

The problem with relentlessly playing the possession game is that, unless you're man city, your players will mess up at some point and give the ball away. I feel like we need some versatility in our play: any team, like Sunderland, who are half-decent on the break will tear us apart because we're so predictable.
Individual errors: Holgate was poor, but it's his first game so I can let him off. Bazunu continues to make errors... I don't see what RM sees in Manning.
Defensively we still look poor. Really hope the guy from man city is quality |

Forest had a few game changers. We've just got dross. Stuart Armstrong was the only one with any attacking purpose.

We look much worse than under Ralph. NJ has had weeks to work with the squad but no-one seemed to know what they were doing. You could see the players were confused. I was willing to write off the Lincoln performance as rustiness, but today can't be excused |

Quite predictable. 3 games in a week is a lot for some of the players, especially against a well-organised team like wolves. To be fair to Ralph, if he'd have rotated the team we'd all be complaining, so the guy can't win 😂
We really needed to buy a goal scorer in the transfer window to make it perfect. It's not as if the club didn't try, though. |

Great result in the circumstances, albeit against a toothless side. I think it's not the first time Valery has been sent off(?), and I feared for him as soon as he got the first yellow. He's a decent player, but has to start learning from errors. Diallo continues to look like a class act when called upon. Shout out to Shane Long, who I've occasionally maligned on this forum! Ralph's problem is he is so streaky. In the good times he's great, but in the bad times he has no answer. Top managers find an answer...
Our performances in the second half of games is consistently awful, and tbf this was an issue before Ralph.
I agree with comments above. We miss KWP and Walcott, but these players missing shouldn't be such a big issue! Leeds had more injury problems tonight |

Over the last few seasons it's become a recurring theme: inability to break down teams who set up defensively. Yeah we can point to the slightly odd team selection (although plenty on this site were calling for JWP to start at right back after his performance against Villa), but this kind of performance against the likes of WHU and Burnley is a historic problem. As is the defensive errors... |
