NEW BLOG: Northampton Town v Blackpool - Northampton Pubs (and llamas)

It's the last away day of the season proper, so I head to Northampton dressed as a giant seagull. I go llama trekking, learn about Thomas A'Becket, rejoin CAMRA, watch volcanoes erupting, meet a micropubdog - and of course eat and drink beer aplenty. Oh and watch the match!

This blog also raises the question: if someone else's food was delivered to your table, would you eat it?

Yes! I had that in mind as I wrote it :).

Saw a disturbing stat yesterday about how few goals and assets are coming from midfield. It's great that we have the defence shored up but we do need to be more ruthless going forward. It's not even entertaining to watch a lot of the time, even when we are winning. That makes it all the harder when the results aren't going our way.

Well the match might have been a bit of a damp squib, but the pubs of Rochdale were quite impressive. Marzipan beer, banoffles (my new favourite made up word), irresistible sausage rolls - and octopus curry.

That early kick off threw my day right out of kilter...

I can't say that was an easy watch but what a win! I thought our attitude won us that one. We didn't get riled - and reacted to anger and histrionics with smiles, proferred hands and cuddles. And that's kind of beautiful.
