The group was thrown under the bus months back. They was asked to self police the group as the club couldn’t afford the extra police and stewards. They was happy to do it at first but was then told by the clubs copper that they shouldn’t speak to the group. Been poor all round. What could’ve been a successful group was really just allowed to fall flat on its arse. Performances haven’t helped and now just really shows the frustrations of fans |

Thank you. From all accounts the only time this year you'll see a police presence like that will be Stockport. The Mansfield game is apparently under review as well but all dependant on things leading up to the game.. league form, crowd numbers etc. The trust will be releasing a summary from the meeting for those who'd like to know more to. |

Evening all, Glad to be finally celebrating 3 points at home. In regards to today. A meeting was held this week between us ( Overcoaters ) , the trust and the club in regards to recent issues. The movement of the away fans further along Willbutts was something we had proposed at the meeting but had already been planned by the club in the week. From what I know this will continue where possible. In regards to the policing we was told that games with increased policing this year ( up to Jan ) was, Grimsby, Stockport and Barrow. The increased police presence today was already planned before recent issues took place due to Barrows incidents at previous games this season. We was also told that Barrow apparently see it as a bigger game with it being a very similar distance to Carlisle and were expected to come in numbers. |

Hopefully its something that can be resolved. We understand why they currently wouldn't want to be associated with it but are hopefully they'll help iron out current issues as there's only so much we can do. Time will tell |

Thank you very much! Really appreciate the support! Up the Dale! |

It's not taken as personal criticism, we understand it has gotten out of control recently and understand why the club currently don't want to be involved. Unfortunately its got the size now that there's not much ourselves can do without club help. We can tweet what we do and don't condone but at the end of the day others behaviour is out of our hands. We'd love the club to get on board even just to help iron out current issues and then possibly look at it being something they'd work alongside in the future when more established. We've reached out to similar groups under the trust recommendation to see how they dealt with similar issues in the hope it helps going forward. |

This is were our issues arise though. The issues will continue if the club doesn't help stop it. Has there actually been any bans for those who are setting the flairs off? If there's no repercussion's enforced for it it'll keep happening. Then we are losing on both parts as we aren't able to get the clubs backing and we've an increase in incidents as we've seen. |

The trust have been contacted on multiple occasions and are the only ones who reply to our emails and help peruse it. It always seems to come to a dead end one way or the other with limited feedback from the club. I'm fairly new to the forum and created an account to help chat about the group and show its trying to be a family friendly and fan lead thing rather just an outcasted group for people to dick about under. After last seasons split in the fan base and split opinions on the drum we wanted to try create something which worked for all and approved the atmosphere. |

Its not great unfortunately mate. To the clubs due they was bang on in the summer. We brain stormed ideas with the club and the trust via zoom calls and it looked promising. Once it came to getting the HnS side of standing in the Pearl it went quiet. This was early doors of pre-season so we decided to move the group to the Sandy as we wasn't getting any responses and wanted to get something set for the new season. Since then we've emailed both the club and Simon on multiple occasions trying to get some help with it all but heard nothing. The early games of the season the group was a hit and went down really well, the Burton game being an example. As more people have found out about the group it has obviously started a platform for stupid behaviour. It was a step forward today with no pyro's and the lads involved seem more than happy to work with us going forward which is good. As a group we would massively appreciate all the help the club could give us to make it successful but it seems a struggle atm. |

The club have had very little input in the group at all. We approached the club in the summer about the idea of the Overcoaters and at the time they was well on board. We had originally discussed having the group in the Pearl end but struggled to get any sort of safe standing ideas past by HnS . Since then we've had no further contact from the club about the group despite trying to get in touch on multiple occasions via email and twitter. There is a bases for a very solid fan led group and that was showed at the early stage of this season. We'd love some club direction or pointers to hopefully iron out the current issues and make it something successful rather than the atmosphere falling flat on its face once again. |

Evening all, We've still had limited contact from the club in regards to flares but myself, others and the trust are still exchanging emails. It was clear today that the club is aware of the issue with the tweet from Simon and what seemed to be an increased stewarding presence. Happy that we was able to cut out the use of pyros and hopefully will continue too going forward. All I can say is a thank you for all the support and those who are involved in the group. Everyone was loud and proud today despite the result. One step at a time, Up the Dale! |

Trust have been contacted and have acknowledged the email. Will have a response and hopefully an idea of next steps tomorrow evening. |

It wouldn’t mate no… and that’s why we are trying to do something about it The lads who where there that we know last night were also getting verbal abuse off this group of lads. When there’s two people we know who are trying to stop a group of 40 young teens it’s always going to be a struggle. We will be having a chat with those who we think are involved at Doncaster when myself and others are there at the hopes we are able to get this resolved |

Hi Kel, If you have an issue with these two mentioned people I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to have a chat in person over a pint if this is something you’d want as nothing is clearly being resolved over social media. Both me and the person I’ve set it up with understood that something like this would happen and it’d come back to us, we are trying all can to get said issue resolved… |

We’ve been told the way they’re phrasing the chant was as such that they were addressing the group and that they was telling us they will do what they want rather than singing as part of the Overcoaters group. The chant was aimed at the statement we put out after Orient about flairs and as a backlash they’ve chanted ‘ Overcoaters ( directed at us rather than with us ) we do what we want ‘. We originally thought the same as you and tweeted it had no relevance to us however we’ve had multiple people respond that the chant was aimed at our no pyro policy rather than being part of the group. We’re doing all we can with limited contact from the club to try stop the issue. We understand the club know who set the flair off at Orient and it’s down to them to sort appropriate action. As for us, the trust has been emailed and will do all we can to speak to those who are involved. |

Least I can do mate! The aims for a supporters group for all so need to keep everyone on board where possible. We’ve found out that the flair issue last night was apparently against the group and our statement about the flair incident at Orient. Seems to a backlash from the younger ones who stood with us. An email will be sent to the trust today regarding it and we will try speak to the lads involved at the next home game. |

Tweet should still be up yes. We will get some rules and expectations tweeted and pinned this coming week. Hopefully able to get some club contact before the Doncaster game to ensure its not repeated. Hopefully its just a blip and is able to be rectified and we can start getting more flags, banners and fans in the section as the season progresses. |

Thank you for the support mate. This is an issue we both knew would occur eventually. After a positive few weeks and a great reception we hoped it would be on the up. When it comes tonight's game both myself and the person I set it up with wasn't able to attend and this is where the issues occur. At this point we are unable to self police it and would've hoped the lads there tonight would know how we'd want them to represent the group. As for statements its been published both after tonight's game and the incident against Orient that we don't condone this behaviour. Its just being able to hopefully work with the club to help prevent this in the future as we are trying all we can to stop it after what was a successful few weeks. |

Good Evening Kel, We do apologise if the flair issue has offended you but as previously stated this is nothing to do with our group and we support appropriate action to get those involved removed. We understand through your links to the club you may be able to help us get in contact with the club and board to help prevent further issues like this. This would be far more useful than moaning constantly on here as well as slating the group on your twitter page... which you've also blocked us on. Hope you're able to help us and get on board with the idea of the group Thank you |

Evening all. New to the forum but as one of the founders of the Overcoaters group, I thought id come on here and say thank you for all the support so far. As a lot of you already know the group aims to create a better atmosphere in the COA and is based in the Sandy lane. Despite the recent results the group has been a huge success and will hopefully grow as the season progresses. We will try and keep you up to date with all the latest on appropriate platforms. Again a big thank you from myself and Dan for the support. UTD |
