Shelvey 22:01 - Jan 14 with 9434 viewsshimmie

If he's out on Sunday, and apparently he could very well be, is Leon our only fit midfielder?

In which case Lee Lucas surely has to play.

Thought Taylor was injured.
I'd still keep Davies and Rangel as full backs.
We also have Jazz Richards who I think is treated unfairly by some on here - another player who will never let us down IMP

Agree, hardly disgraced himself when he's played, deserves a shot but not going to get in ahead of Rangel and I don't think he's played midfield for us in the prem.

This is getting beyond a frigging joke now...

Get Ki back here now FFS he's our bloody player!!!

The amount of injuries we've sustained recently is a little mystifying...

Interesting to put Vasquez on the wing instead as striker.

Could take some of the pressure of him.

He seem to have the technic to play as an inside wing.

Good choice.

Where has this Shelvey story come from? Don't know if it's true or not, but with the press falling over themselves to crank up the 'Ki-Gate' story I'm surprised it's not been reported.

Whatever the situation, we'll put out a team of players committed to Swansea City FC and we'll back them to the hilt. Whether it's Leon, Pozuelo, JDG, Richards, Lucas, Amat or whatever, we'll get stuck in and try to win the game.

Hopefully we won't spend the game groaning that we don't have Ki, world's greatest midfielder, in our team.

Enjoying the next level

If you read some of the latest interview with Laudrup, he seem to be very confident we will have many players back from injury very soon.

Laudrup say that Swansea can bring back Ki, "but not sure there will be many matchs for him".

Agree.

He seems a tidy footballer. Doesn't seem to have the aggression to play as a lone striker in the Premier League, but he's looked at his best when playing a supporting role, and I can definitely see him doing a job as one of the inside forwards.

And born and rised as a stiker, he most have some scoring abilities (...in theory).

Tremell
Rangel Chico Williams Davies
Amat Leon
Pozuelo Shelvey Routledge
Bony

is as good enough to give Spurs a run around

playing Amat and Britton together could be considered a master stroke with 3 creative players to support Bony .......yes?

While not brilliant he must have something about him.
Although he's credited with 11 appearances for us how many minutes has he played?

According to Transfermarkt he has played 563 minutes. Which is roughly the equivalent of 6 games.

And what's important to remember is that he hasn't played six games on the trot and not scored. He's only had minutes here and there so I feel it's grossly unfair to lay into him like some on here have with totally unnecessary vitriol . He's only 21 FFS

I think he will make quite a few on here eat their words sometime soon. If he doesn't well as long as he keeps trying and working hard in the shirt I'll do nothing but support him.

Sometimes I wonder if some sections of our support remember when we were signing Tommy Mutton and getting excited. Vasquez is a Spanish U21 international it has to be pointed out, and he's one of our back up strikers

IMO we really should be in a position where we are pretty desperate for fit players but its fortunate we can bring in more this month unless we are hoping all the injured return and start where they left off. High risk

Great post Bryn, the hysterical rants on here of late are a joke, it's the usual suspects slagging him off, i have no doubts Shelvey and De Guzman will be fit

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Spot on.

He's obviously got talent but is struggling with the physical side and lacks confidence.

Amat, Lamah, Bony, Shelvey etc. were all written off very quickly by some on here too.
Probably the same ones who reckoned Ash and Ben were worth £20m each.

So what's this about Shelvey being potentially out then? First I've heard of it ...
