Something I would like to see us try. It could work. Well it does in my head

I think Bony would appreciate another body alongside him and we can still compete in midfield

Its a good system but doesn't really lend itself to the players available to us.

The wide players are wing backs which means they have attacking and defensive duties - Rangel and davies are ideally suited there but it would be difficult to find room for the likes of dyer and Hernandez.

It would work well for say Liverpool who want to accommodate match winners sturridge and Hannibal lector but we don't have that quality up front do we

Agree all the way.

3-5-2 would for Swansea proberly be perfect for all those counterattack goals scored on us.

But playing wide with Davies and Rangel would be totally fuccked up.

My opinion is that it wouldn't work, Rodgers tried it couple of seasons ago against already relegated Wolves and we drew 4-4. Yes it was entertaining but imagine how many the big teams would score against us. Keep it as it is but be a bit more brave with runners from midfielder getting past Bony, missing Michu late runs from midfield this season

Scoring they would have to go past Williams, Chico, Amat, Canas and Shelvey.

The goals scored on us have mainly gone thought the middle, not from passes from the sides.

Playing wide could let Guzman and Shelvey go wide when attacking.

But as said before, it would seriously change the way we play.

That was 3-4-3. I prefer having an extra body in midfield

I agree with you about midfield runners tho

Tremell
Williams Chico Davies
Rangel Brittton Amat Shelvey Routledge
Bony Pozuelo

with who we have available

no need to throw lamah and tiendalli in after injuries
if Poz is not fit then it has to be Vasquez

Davies at centre half with Amat in midfield and Routs as a wing back? Looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Why play two up top? 3-5-1. Bony up top and shelvey poz am? more support for bony and service hopefully and a few more bodies in the box when we have the ball? When we lose the ball we would still have most of the time 3 central defenders and are sitting! midfielder goalside, and the wing backs will be tracking up aswel well as back. I just think we need to try something different with what we have at the mo, which is,nt alot till the injurys clear and we are not banging them in for fun at the moment.

You mean 3-6-1 like this?

Rangel - Leon - JJS - Ben

-------Poz - Routledge

-------------Bony

I wouldn't be against this, it's another option

Excellent post, i hope Perchy reads and digests, (i won't hold my breath)

And I agree with most of it too. I would ask though, why is relegation not really likely? Our play over the first half if the season is surely irrelevant. What we do for the rest if the season matters. And our current form, no win in 7, suggests a difficult time ahead. Even if our fixtures are easier (on paper) our confidence, individual form and injury problems are not a good combination.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
