More likely to be Ebbsfleet
Ball Number 35 on 17:27 - Oct 25 with 6467 views | Hopwoodblue | I would prefer one that would give us a few quid for a televised game, which would probably have to be a decent non league side away. [Post edited 25 Oct 2013 17:37]

I'm with you on this one I see the 1st round as an opportunity to give some of the fringe players game time I'm thinking of the keeper Thomson, Eastham, Cavanagh (if fit), Bunney, Logan

last thing we want is getting Bury and everyone getting all giddy based on league positions thinking we'd put 5 or 6 past them. Something winnable with the minimum of fuss.
Ball Number 35 on 08:49 - Oct 26 with 6100 views | sweetcorn | Something nice and easy at home. However if its gonna be a league side, it's gotta be Oldham.

Ball Number 35 on 09:17 - Oct 26 with 6071 views | pnc4eva1 | Personally I don't care. We're not going to go on and win the competition. Therefore like the JPT its just a competition with a risk of injuries and suspensions that will detract from the league which has got to be the club's main emphasis.

Ball Number 35 on 10:20 - Oct 26 with 5999 views | SuddenLad | 1st = Home draw 2nd = Non-league club 3rd = Halifax or Southport Now I've said that, we will now probably be drawn away at somewhere Needham Market or Brislington !!

What a daft logic that is, that because we're not gonna win it, it doesnt matter. No we're not gonna win the competition, but its a competition which if we progress to at least the 3rd Round could see us gain a lucrative draw for the club, which could secure our future short term and quite possibly long-term. look at Oldham last season and the money they made from them merseyside ties or Bradford for that league cup run. Plus there is TV money to be made. Having a run in the cup is a potential gold mine and we haven't had one for a while.

Correct. | | | |
Ball Number 35 on 11:25 - Oct 26 with 5923 views | isitme | A decent cup run could mean that we could turn down one of the invariable offers for our players in January and at the end of the season.

Ball Number 35 on 12:17 - Oct 26 with 5857 views | AtThePeake | Not many North East sides still in it. Don't fancy either Gateshead or Marske to get through their tricky away ties, but they're playing two teams that aren't too far from home and are a decent day out, so either the winner of Chester-Gateshead or the winner of Southport-Marske please. Or Hartlepool!
