Bury, some questions. 21:11 - Jun 13 with 9328 views | 442Dale | It's been over two weeks since the takeover and I can't be arsed going searching for answers, but any Bury fan should be able to provide info to the following: 1) have they signed any players yet? If not, why not? 2) has Blackwell done any interviews talking about specific targets? 3) what has the new board said recently regarding finances and squad building? 4) who are they playing pre-season? This will have been sorted, right? No doubt these are simple questions, and will take about a minute for any Shakers fan to answer. Thanks in advance and I'm sure they'll be able to deal with any other queries from other posters too.

Bury, some questions. on 21:30 - Jun 13 with 3110 views | gigger | The board have said we are 6 weeks behind everybody else because of takeover. Under barker we didn't have 1 scout employed but now we have several thanks to the new board. I would imagine we need to sign a minimum of 14 players but that doesn't usually happen, but it will have to happen. We have 1 keeper and 1 defender in our mini squad. We play rad borough and Sheffield united so far. We can't play friendlies with no players. All teams had there matches sorted weeks ago when we was closed!!! I've read that dodgy rumour site and we've been linked to some decent players so 1 out of them will do. We've offered contracts to 3 players who we released at end of season. I would imagine it will get interesting next week when Blackwell gets back from Dubai. Wish list, m.morgan, r.lowe, t.soares, s.zubar, b.parker, a.grimes, We will need to replace worrell as it looks like he's going Crawley.

Wish list, m.morgan, r.lowe, t.soares, s.zubar, b.parker, a.grimes, Some wish list that Gigger!! Shoot for the stars I suppose. The problem bURY have is any potential targets will need paying. Ultimatley that could be the shakers downfall in recruitment. If i was a bURY fan - I would be very very worried about the whole debarcle whats going on at Giggle. Whens Blackwell back?? what a job he has on this next month. Every chance the whole size of the task in hand will hit him soon and it would not suprise me in the slightest if he was not the bURY boss come Christmas* *Christmas could be generous.

Bury, some questions. on 09:14 - Jun 14 by SuddenLad | Thought the very same thing - and look how we ended up. They're playing a dangerous game at Giggle Lane. They announce that all is rosy, the club are 'saved' are in 'good hands' - the old Politburo have fallen on their swords and the future is bright. Then there seems to be a re-enaction of the Mary Celeste scenario. Everyone can still see Giggle Lane but the crew have gone missing. No-one seems to know what's going on but in the meantime, all their rivals get on with the job in hand leaving the rudderless Mary Celeste to drift aimlessly towards the horizon minus it's crew. I'd be getting the binoculars out if I lived that side of bURY. Short-sightedness could be a serious problem. |
I know how it looks to other fans but look at it from our point of view. 6weeks ago we where days from not having a club to support so at the moment as strange as it sounds this new era is quite exciting. I spoke to Stuart day for a good 20 minutes on Tuesday and everything he said was positive. As for Blackwell still being on holiday he was at gigg every day since season ended trying to sort the players out because nobody had a clue what was goin on. The previous board repeatedly demanded Blackwell came in at certain times and he was met unannounced by different tv, radio and media. He has done a bit of work offering contracts and speaking to players but nothing can be sorted till there contracts finish.

'I spoke to Stuart day for a good 20 minutes on Tuesday and everything he said was positive.' Brilliant. Everything's OK then. 'He has done a bit of work offering contracts and speaking to players but nothing can be sorted till there contracts finish.' How come most other clubs have been announcing signings/contracts that will take effect from 1st July?

I agree there is some time but the clock is ticking. Every player will be after security first and foremost and bURY just looks like it would be the last place to look for that at the moment. Even if you can convince a target that the money is good and will be available for wages then the palyers demands could be unrealistic. I could predict Mr Days next move and its not pretty. Within 12 months I can hear him already saying the situation was much worse than i first thought and now our hands are tied, I know to the fans this looks like asset stripping but it is to keep the club afloat!!. Kerchiinngggg Mr Day - ( and his property cronies ) He is sat on a goldmine ( land ) he just needs to play his cards at the right time and he will become a very rich man. The worry is I have always said Dale could be half a step behind bURY financially. I hope to god its a full step!! Dale board must cast an eye over at Giggle and make sure we never drift into such a sorry state.

Yes, TVOS, your final sentence is the killer for bURY fans. They only need to cast an eye towards Spotland (amongst other places) to see the number of players that will become Dale players with effect from............with the deals being sorted weeks ago. The 'Blackwell on holiday' situation is so similar to the Alan Buckley scenario that it's hard not to draw serious comparisons. We all know how that turned out. Trawling for the dregs of what was left, weeks after almost everyone had made decisions was a disaster. No matter how much money is available, you need to get names on dotted lines. As a bURY fan, you have to hope that things really are being 'kept under wraps' and that there is much to announce but that they are simply waiting for the right time. Somehow, I doubt it.

That's in the back of my mind, hope its not a novelty of owning a club but in reality can't afford it. I think we will see if the board are the real deal with the signings we make. I think the first signing is the crucial one. We still need a captain and a prolific striker to replace Healy

the Alan Buckley scenario was one of the most bizarre things I've known at Dale. How could a manager who'd been out of work for at least nine months could go on a three week holiday the day after getting the job? I know the likes of KH will go on holiday and spend more time working than holidaying but I never imagined Buckley to be that type. I know there were other factors, but it was a horrible season that year, and I wonder how much that holiday affected things.
