I doubt there'd be cause to utilise it practically any time soon- but at least it registers a stake in the ground for fan's and the community, and if anything untoward ever did occur in the future it would prevent it happening without consultation.

Given Spotland's mixed ownership issues, if nothing else I think it beneficial to highlight fans wish to have a say in what occurs with the ground, and would raise the profile of the Trust with the Stadium Company and generally.
