And it won't come soon enough in my opinion.

If the PST asked all those who pledged if they would be prepared for their money to be invested in a Plan B option, I would imagine that the majority would still be happy to invest.

If they've managed to raise £2.5 million its a massive start towards cashflow.

The players are bleeding our club dry and if we manage to survive the next 5 weeks, what have we really got to look forward to?

I know what you're saying, but I am not sure creating a witch-hunt against the players feels right somehow. They are not the ones to blame for Pompey's predicament. I hope they can see their respective ways to do the 'right thing' but I won't be criticising them.

Play up Pompey!

Players deferring wages is the only reason we are still alive, and to be honest I'd rather see them get the money they are due from the parachute payments than Chainrai get his.

Their stance is based on the assumption that Chainrai is taking back over, and they cannot be criticised for that. But if they play the same game with the Trust as owners that would be the time to criticise them.

If they walk away now they could effectively just be giving the money they are owed to Chainrai. Why would anyone do that ?

Sadly it seems the Trust may be having difficulty with their bid. In he snooze article Birch is saying "calm down - these things take time" which for Birch is extremeley positive. Come July offers will start arriving for most of the players and it's then compromise agreements for the rest. Naturally, Birch isn't going to make compromise offers until he is sure no offers come in for players. What the outcome is with TBH will determine whether the club is liquidated or not.

Indeed, DB I have to agree. If the players' wages are holding BC off then it is all to the good IMO.

The Trust are still to table a bid. If the players took the stance they would negotiate with the Trust but not BC ... pigs would fly I suppose. But it is an interesting thought.

The other thing I keep wondering about, conspiracy theorist that I am, is exactly what the role of TBH's agent is in all this. What is his position in regard to BC I wonder? It is TBH's wage that is the most problematic, and he looks unlikely to have any bidders come in for him.

This is what is wrong with football, players with no respect or care for the club they represent. All they want is their contract paid up. Mind you when they want to leave if a club comes in for them the contract means nothing them. They only want to stay because they are on unrealistic wages and want to continue drawing their ridiculous wages for being below average players. This bullshit about how they love playing for Pompey is just bullshit. They clearly are not in the real world and need to piss off before we are left with no team to support

We should stop blaming the players. It was the Pompey Management that negotiated their contracts. It is what was not written in the small print that leaves us in this precarious position. There should have been relegation clauses, sell on clauses, but it appears this is not the case. The wonderful CEO with his League experience should have been well advised about players contracts. We will now have to rely on the players themselves to give a helping hand to compromise the situation. No new owner would want to squander money for paying other peoples debt. I have big concerns for where we are at present. Couldn't be worse. How many times have we said that?
