Bit unfair on Daggers - His goals per game at Tranmere was pretty good.
Others I would agree were rough diamonds.
You could look at our 3 highest transfers though and argue all 3 did not do as well as any of the above.
Flounders - Did OK at first, Got done for drink driving - Fell out with Sutton
Platty - Did ok - worked hard - but was never prolific
Connor - Great Player - Got Injured - Never the same again.
Could also add Paul Williams - Who is better at falling off horses than scoring goals!!! |
I'm a big Daggers fan, he was certainly more 'potential' than 'proven' when he joined us.
Agree on the monied signings....and I always have this in mind when folk throw around the accusation that we don't spend enough on players or that we should buy x, y and z.

First 'broken toy' signed and im not sure he's broken scoring 6 goals in half a season for the worst team in the league, not like he will have had the best service. Looks big on dale player so if he's only 5ft9 he must be pretty stocky. Good first signing. | |

Think Kennedy was signed in July - Can't remember the year, but I think he came across after his Darlo contract expired.
I really cannot remember us signing anyone a week after our released list was released.
I did not agreed with the released list but lets give Coleman the credit for this - he obviously knows who he wants and has moved early. I am not sure if Donnelly is good or not but, I am positive that this has happened so quick.
