We've obviously got to start scoring goals! Can't see it at the moment.
A massive disappointment tonight! Hate Hughes, what an 'orrible thug.

Even the Rochdale commentator didn't think it was a sending off. 4th official said it was 2 footed but replays apparently show one foot was planted. Still, I'm glad it cheered you up!

You were ahead in everything but the possession, and that was close, had a feeling you would nick a draw near the end.

Good luck for the rest of the season

To be fair the Rochdale commentator wasn't stood where we were in the Sandy and it was a shocker, had to be sent off he left the ref no choice...

Poll: Hill in or out? 2nd referendum.....

Fair enough, I haven't seen it so I'm only going by what our manager and your commentator said. Have to see if we appeal, and what the result is. I suspect we won't though, it's very difficult to get a card overturned if any contact is made whatsoever.

Also the ref booking your lad for diving was so wrong....There was audible contact from our end and that yellow was undeserved..

I was very bemused by the role asked of Grimes tonight and thought that he at lest should have be given a go alongside Symes who was struggling up front on his own.

A poor display all in all which only saw us the step the tempo up during injury time after Notts had someone sent off which saw too many players have off nights, Widowson, Jones, Kennedy, Grimes, Symes and man of the match(???) Adams were all below par tonight. On the plus side I thought that Joe Thompson had another positive impact when he came on with three decent crosses into the box which should have seen a better end product in the box.

We really need to beat Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday now .

That booking was laughable! I felt a bit sorry for the lad.

Not just the tackle that got him sent off, but his all round demeaner.

I genuinely think had it been any other player then it would have been just a yellow card. It looked an OTT challenge, but it didn't look like he was in there to try and hurt our keeper but more like contesting the sort of ball you'd hope a striker would do. I've not seen it side on which will be the best angle, and it seemed to me like the linesman who had that view made the final call, but I think any other player at that stage of the game would not have been sent off. I think the referee was influenced by the reaction of those around him and in the crowd which was baying for more blood than had it been Ben Burgess.

The linesman flagged instantly and vigorously so I would say it was definitely him who had the final say.

I was side on to the incident and Hughes was very late with studds up never attempted to play the ball only the man and fully deserved a red.

You could instantly tell from Long's reaction it was a bad challenge

Why would Long make a meal of it? The foul was on the goalkeeper.

I saw the video on Sky this morning. It's impossible to see exactly what happened as there are bodies in the way.

He was clearly irate with what Hughes did instantly after the tackle. You're clutching at straws here.

Its what players do nowadays, waving imaginary cards and wading in if anyone challenges a keeper.

The sad thing is for us, is that a year ago Hughes would probably have reached it.

So visitingpie also knows what the fourth official said.

Is he/she Keith Curle, I wonder?

Errr no, it's what Keith Curle himself said after he asked the ref after the game in his post match interview.

Said he was sent off for a two footed challenge and Keith Curle said 'please put that in your report'

If he does and the tv evidence backs then it's a 3 game ban

I know that. I also know catagorically that it was NOT two footed. I've seen a still photograph of it. If the refs report says that we may win an appeal. If he puts 'dangerous challenge' or something else then we may not.

Actually think it's unlikely that he will appeal it. It's notoriously difficult to get red cards overturned. A month ago we would have despaired if this had happened, but now we still have Montano and Forte, and Burgess if you count him as a striker. Gives the old man a rest so he's refreshed for the run in, if I want to look at the positives!

I imagine Keith Curle is going to say anything that makes your case better.

Unless you were privvy to the conversation, this is just hearsay.

Anyway, I don't believe it was a two footed lunge, but one which was over the top and didn't win the ball.

The red card was correct.

Adams had a good overall game but some of his crosses were woeful. Widdowson should have closed his man down. He just stood there and watched. Meanwhile, the County player had all the time in the world to measure his cross to the head of Bencherif.
JK was putting his foot in and weaving his magic but it didn't quite come to fruition. He worked with Symes early doors, but again not quite coming off.
The ball was in the middle of the opposition penalty area twice in the first half, begging for a Dale player to hit it. But guess what? No Dale player in sight. When we have a corner, BBM should move forward just in the penalty area rather than outside it. We need to take those "risks" now. Also, being behind, we still didn't leave 2 up front on most occasions when they had a corner. Come on now, like I said take some "risks".
As soon as they scored it instantly became a game of time wasting. I knew in the second half that they would carry that on and frustrate the shit out of us. The ref allowed it to happen far too much.
Yes our defence is much improved but you could see on the face of JC in his interview that he will try his damndest to sort out our bite up front.

"Sort it out" !!!!!!!
