This is the sort of nonsense you get when your manager is too nice
(What a great interview, what a great personality)
Not sure what Tobis personality has to do with McNulty, he would have had the same personality before he came to the club. Criticism of McNulty clearly irks you but prior to Tuesday we have won one league game this year and picked up 7 points from a possible 24..that's relegation form in anybodies book. To just ignore that run of form and not ask questions of the manager wouldnt be right. Of course we've had some wins in the Trophy games but at the moment we will do really well to secure a play off spot. League results since the turn of the year have been poor and even McNulty would do well to flower that fact up. We've had two good wins this week let's continue that and treat the game at Oldham next Saturday as a game that really means something for a change.

It may well be a psychological defence mechanism on James' part
If you're spending a huge amount of time, effort and cash travelling up from Sussex, you'd want to think you were investing that in someone who can manage a team that's moving forwards, at least
Since the turn of the year, as you say, we've been moving backwards until last week. Like every other Daley, i hope that signals a return to some kind of challenge for the playoffs
The amount of aforesaid time, effort and cash applies to plenty of others, of course, and others still who live locally but have a spent a lifetime supporting Dale

Advocates of the devil may say we were moving in a positive direction in the league after the Yeovil game in terms of performance, result and fan mood. Unfortunately this was derailed somewhat by the farcical postponement of the Boston game three days later.

Finally an interview I can relate too. Non of the usual text book responses, instead an off the cuff, down with the times, heartfelt set of responses.can we please have more of this honesty. This is what the club has always been about.

I was that devil!
What i'm referring to is the kind of consistent back-to-back and continuing levels of performance, which the Yeovil game wasn't followed up with. All teams have postponements, and some are more last-minute and deflating than others, but if we can add to the two previous results today then it'll be the first sign of significant progress - not just one good performance

I agree, always been about the consistency however we were in decent form towards the end of January, had a poor spell and now a good week.
There are bigger discussions of course, but it’s been an up and down mood amongst fans with the results over the last couple of months. A couple of weeks ago we witnessed a lot of talk over whether McNulty could continue, we win two and get to the semis of the Trophy and that seems to have taken a backseat.
The world has changed, results are now all important when it comes to determining mood.

Yep, what's known as "the business end of the season"
We need to be feeling positive at 5pm this evening

We really do. And that team he’s picked is certainly positive.
If it’s a negative result though will it then be another onslaught of “he’s got to go”? Don’t get me wrong, the limitations and arguments against the manager have some substance. But when they only appear after a defeat they lose some weight.
When Barrow was quite obviously not the man, an Andy Morris hat-trick didn’t change opinion. As mentioned, the world has changed.

Quite. The usual suspects are nowhere to be seen tonight but if we lose at Oldham they’ll be out in full force. It’s saddening how predictable it is.
