Gauge called upon the wealth and generosity of his in-laws to fund the crisis. That's why we still have a club to support. However, the loans were converted to shares when the Ogdens were installed.
With the recent re-organisation of major boardroom positions, I'm not sure what role Gauge has any more. He is nominally Co-Chairman, but it seems that all the major responsibilities lay elsewhere.

If "all the major responsibilities lay elsewhere", who's in charge of overseeing the performance of the manager? It's a question i've asked a couple of times; no-one seems to have any answers as yet
It's pretty useless anyone saying McNulty should "use Plan B" (he hasn't got one), "he should be sacked" (who's going to find his replacement?) or he "should be given more time" - by whom? Who's in charge of the football side of things?
Once we have some kind of answer to that question - THEN, we can start to take the necessary steps to the brighter future the fans deserve, and the Ogdens deserve for their investment and initiatives in non-football matters |  |

For me the frustration is around the style of play. This team have shown that when let off the leash they can beat almost anyone. The match v Yeovil being a fine example of that. I don't get to that many matches but most recently I came over to see us against Ebbsfleet. I was hoping for ( perhaps even expecting) a display of attacking football against a team cast adrift at the bottom of the league. Instead I just say in the stand shivering with nothing to excite me and feeling sorry for those of you who are subjected to that cross every week. Brian Slough used to complain about football being played in the air so God knows what he would make of it being played backwards!
I don't really care if we make the play offs as I don't think we're get good enough to go up but I would dearly love us to get to Wembley, win the Trophy and finally have some decent silverware on the mantelpiece.
Jim seems like a nice guy but he looks blinkered and unable to adapt. For me next Saturday is make or break. Really go for it and get the goals (our defence is good enough to protect our end - usually!).

So McNulty may have lost his way a bit, but that doesn't mean there's anything terminal about the situation.
There's still an awful lot to play for and anyone bleating like lambs about sacking managers, because of a drop in form needs to give their heads a wobble. Get behind the bloody team.
Remember, this is a 3-year plan, not a quick fix. How long have Barnet been in the National League? Halifax? York? Southend?
From where we have been as a club, this last 18 months, it is inevitable that there will be hiccups along the way.

I only get to 10 - 15 games a season, but am at the point now i just dont want to go to the games. I considered going Saturday but knew what would be served up for 90 mins. its absolute dross to watch.
Such a shame as i think this team could do so much better. Its like Jim is waiting for something to click and thinks we are just going to blow everybody away. The truth is though, most teams in this league have us sussed before kick off.
As much as i want us to Win the trophy and a trip to wembley, this might just paper over the cracks and keep Jim in a job. Reminds me a bit of Man U and the Ten Hag situation. Winning the FA cup kept him in a job and wasted another summer of recruitment |  | | |

While it would've been yet another salary, I think adding a Director of Football during the recent role reallocation would have been a good idea.
As numerous people have rightly pointed out, there isn't anyone above the head coach with that kind of experience currently at the club. |  |

I've a small amount of sympathy for McNulty in the sense that the squad really needed a freshen up in January, at a time when the club were pouring fortunes into stitching up the centre circle instead.
I doubt the Ogden's would have the bravery/inclination to sack a manager as its not their area of expertise. There's little to no chance of McNulty being sacked therefore for me, he is Gauge's man. He's got every football mistake wrong since he became Chairman. Giving McNulty three seasons and then sacking him in the first is as an admission of another error. Wont happen however much its needed.
Whatever the Execs try to do with the club, everything is defined by what happens on the pitch. There's no buzz around the club whatsoever ATM, when there really should be, because the on-field product is so lifeless. [Post edited 24 Feb 15:48]

I haven't been this calendar year. I could've made it to every single game and don't get me wrong I miss the ritual, but it was getting to the point where we would actually win and I'd still be frustrated with the sub-standard "football" on show.
It's all out of a coaching manual, and not a very good one at that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - a clean break was needed from top to bottom after the takeover. It didn't, and look where we are. The summer is another chance to rectify that before we're served up another season of dross.
Dire football I can deal with. Relegations I can deal with. Being treated with contempt by senior board members and fed what can only be described as "tiki-taka propaganda" by an inadequate football coach is something I won't deal with.

We can see that when we go for it we are more than capable of giving any team I this weak league a scare, trouble is you would hope that Jim has seen this and the penny has finally dropped. Next game we revert back back to pedestrian pass it around ad infinitum boring, soul destroying, I can't even call it football and I sit there in the Pearl Street looking at the trees or the sky or a pigeon. I’m beginning to wonder if any research and homework had been done before playing recruitment on how successful teams win promotion from the NL? And I don’t mean throw money at it like Wrexham.
Gateshead seem to be the model; did BJ decide that his style of football would trump everything else and proceed accordingly without being practical about it?
We’re nearly at the situation where all three games in hand will have to be won to get back into those playoff places.
If nothing else, being in the top seven at the end of the season could bring a welcome financial bonus from a shared gate at somewhere like York, Oldham or Halifax for example. |
Yes and the answer is goals..
Score 2+ goals a game and have a strong no nonsense pairing at centre half.
Pace on the wings helps..
Plus a direction of travel that is predominately forward... and positive.
Get the ball quickly into channels with willing runners who can cross a ball into forwards who are hungry to pop the ball into the net.
Stockport / Wrexham and Chesterfield all had a we will outscore you mentality and it showed on the pitch and it showed in the league table after 46 games. | | | |

24th Feb - I am happy to stick with Big Jim (for now) and see how the next few weeks play out.
Lose on Saturday with NO shots that the keeper has to save and I might change my mind on Sunday 02nd March.
I am sure Big Jim will know its a results business.. More than anything clear the minds of the players.. reset and go on Saturday knowing its win or bust.
Two wins in the next 6 days puts us back on the rails at least. | | | |
