Given that there is a choice of sitting down the side of the pitch or standing behind the goal on Wednesday night where are people planning to watch the game from?

I'll be standing and looking forward to it.

They are a beatable side, especially at home. They are 16th in the home league table so hopefully we find a way on another poor Shay pitch and get right at them.

Despite our recent poor run and poor pitch we now have to play on (not that this is in any way an excuse) we are still more than capable of securing a top 7 place and it will be a huge missed opportunity if we don't.

Aside from the win at Gateshead and win earlier on against Halifax we've barely picked up any points against the teams around us; this needs to change.

Living in Calderdale I see quite a few Halifax fans on a regular basis.
Despite their league position the consensus is that their home form is mediocre at best.
They’re in the top seven mainly courtesy of a good away record. They looked a decent team at Spotland in October.
The last three home games have seen wins over Boston (1-0), and Ebbsfleet (2-0) with a 2-1 defeat to AFC Fylde sandwiched in between which isn’t too bad on the face of it though.
They tend to blame three factors - the pitch, an over cautious manager and a lack of atmosphere (the average attendance since the New Year is a tad over 1500).
The opinion is that any team which is well drilled with a compact defence will stifle the home team.
Unless they have managed to get onto the pitch to roll it and do some other remedial work this week it will be extremely bald and bumpy.
Hopefully BJ and his staff will have done their homework and plan accordingly.

Can anyone remember how long injured players are out for? I haven't seen anything said about Burger since the Wolves game and I can't remember anything being said about Barlow who disappeared after being in decent form...

After the Ebbsfleet draw Jim said Barlow had a groin injury. Was back training on grass but not with the first team. I would hope he's in the squad tomorrow or Saturday.

In a similar vein, I notice Barnet picked up 4 yellow cards tonight in their romp over York.
Are any of our lot near to a ban? We don't seem to pick up that many, perhaps because we are that bit soft without a clogger or two.

Chance to do the double over the Shaymen tomorrow? Get at them on the cabbage patch.

NB: When I commented last week about Southend possibly doing the double on us, Maestro marked it down, even though we helped out,....go on lad, tick this one up.

You are right about our fair play record. We have the least yellow/red cards of any team in the National League so far this season - although we have played the fewest games.

My first visit to the Shay tonight since Peakey's bicycle kick.

No real evidence to base this on but reckon we could be in for a cracking Dale away night. Just feels like the situation and opposition might bring it out. And then hopefully kick on in March and April with our customary strong finish once spring pops its head out and just about squeak into the top 7.

Fingers crossed, looking forward to it!

How many points were we on after 27 games last season?

The earliest I can go back on BBC is 3rd Feb last year, where we lost 2-1 at home to Dagenham.
We had played 30 games and had 41 points.

38.

It was New Year's Day and we had just lost to KFC Fylde.

Thank you, so we are currently 6 points better off than last season.

Well yes, but it's not realistic to extrapolate like that as you have to also take into account how the other 23 teams are doing.

For example, bottom of the table Kidderminster had won four games, compared to Ebbsfleet's one, and had six points more.

Also, nobody had 4/5/6 games in hand at that time, which distorts things a little.

Low key so far but we are doing okay with a few sighting at goal whilst restricting them to one early chance only.

Hope we step it up in the second period because we are the better footballing team and their defence looks suspect.

Watching on DAZN, it's a round trip of 100 miles to the Shay......not on a freezing night. Besides I haven't been a lad for 50+++++years.

Can you have a word with the commentator, keeps referring to Sam Walker in goal and William Hogan.

What do you think so far?

The fecker said the pitch wasn't helping either side play football, but it is no worse than Spotland's. I am not so sure.

The concerning stat to me is we have lost more games than any of the teams in the top 7 even though we have played 3-5 fewer games.

Its going to take a big finish to make the play offs.

Poor game of football, neither team created anything clear cut and we go home lucky that Waller guessed the right way for a poor penalty.

Other then the stupid penalty we gave away, we had the best chances of the game to score. We are just not clinical enough. Or we are guilty of over passing in the final third. It wasn't the pitch to over pass. Get shots away and at least hope for a deflection or two.

Not the best spectacle on a really poor pitch. But we should respect the point.

Pedestrian performance against a very average but workmanlike Halifax side. Could have easily lost it.

Same issues especially in front of goal.

Kept Halifax to an early 1v1 and the clumsy penalty.. Aside from that they had no chances

No real major chances for us of note either, despite our lions share of the possession.

Decent away point if considered in isolation.

Poll: DF in or out

Better result for them than us on our form ,7 points behind them with 4 games in hand.
Id take the 7 points all day long .
