Target man on loan? 21:43 - Feb 10 with 1989 views | dingdangblue | With the home pitch the way it is - and not likely to get any better - and the way we've played against both Oldham and Ebbsfleet do we need to bring a target man in upfront? It's just not Mitchell's game and Waller has played quite a lot of long balls in the last 180 mins which have just given up possession. Obviously its not the way Jim wants to play but we need to find a way to adapt to this pitch or else we wont make the play offs. | ![](/images/avatars/2229.gif) |

Target man on loan? on 22:55 - Feb 10 with 1850 views | D_Alien | The phrase that comes to mind over the last two games is "all over the place" I doubt we'll see a target man being brought in, and don't think it'd be effective since the team aren't set up to support that type of player Plus, if it's down to the pitch, that leaves all our away games open to tactical confusion too The players themselves are playing, above all, as if they're confused and at the very least disempowered., scared to put an early cross in, scared to shoot and even making a run into space might seem dodgy to them if it disrupts the formation [Post edited 10 Feb 23:10]

We are definitely scared to shoot. Or is it instructed from the manager? There were certainly multiple occasions on Saturday around the edge of the box where shots could have been attempted but we choose to pass and pass again. Shooting from outside the box doesn't seem to be encouraged. As for the target man debate - yes the team isn't set up to play this way but Waller has definitely gone long more these last 2 games and Mitchell has been useless either challenging or holding the ball up so either Jim tells Waller to stop going direct or we just continue to lose possession. | ![](/images/avatars/2229.gif) |

Keep doing the same thing yet expect a different outcome.... | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

What a perfect combination we had when we had Vincenti on the wing, heading long balls back infield towards Henderson/Hogan for them to finish off. We won't see that though, as it's not how JM wants the game to be played. | ![](/images/avatars/1085.gif) |

Inih Effiong for Dagenham, now at Woking. Levi Amantchi who came off the Bench for Bromley in the cup game, scored one and set one up, recently moved to Walsall. Mike Fondop of course. These are the big players you need in this league. Jim just won't get on board with it I don't think, rather just using the stats method of recruitment. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Give anything for an O'Grady, Ellis or Beesley to be able to hold the ball upfront instead of pissing around in our own half for half the game. | ![](/images/avatars/2229.gif) |
