Tamworth Tuesday 13:23 - Dec 15 with 12391 views | Delboy | Unless Jim and the players are able to find a way we are in for another potential bore fest. Tamworth have no obligation to entertain and following a few early season thrashings tend to set up to frustrate, a method that has brought them some success recently and which inevitably works against our slow possesion based style. To avoid the usual depressing sonario against this type of team surely Jim sees the need to start the game hard and fast and keep going forward even if we are fortunate to score early. For once I would like to see the oppostion defenders have a torrid time instead of sitting back comfortably while we pass nonchalontly around the edge of the area. I would love to be pleasantly surprised but I suppose in all honesty I am steeled for more frustration.

I was there but didn’t see what happened. I believe that Barlow elbowed one of their players in the face and the ref sent the wrong player off? But not 100% sure.

Despite plenty of misgivings, we did at least shoot more and that alone has led to one goal and a lesson learnt. God knows what XI we will see on Saturday, and what change that will mean, but we had to get results in these two home games and it’s half a job done.

Ref spoke to his assistant for a while so, were it a mistake, there are two to blame. I thought our player should have had a yellow though.

Looked like the lino who made the decision - their 18 definitely grabbed/manhandled Barlow but couldn't see a red from that.

The fourth official was involved as well. The Tamworth Twitter is saying they were told the red card was for a stamp by their player. Some video evidence should clear it up.

Three to blame as I’m sure that the fourth official was consulted as well and was actually on the pitch at one stage. The ref was also listening quite intently to his earpiece as well. It was getting pretty hectic in the couple of minutes prior to that with some hefty challenges going in.

Tamworth Tuesday on 23:26 - Dec 17 with 783 views | turnthescrew | The ref got the incident and the card decisions correct. He consulted the linesman and 4th official, and quite properly took his time. The Tamworth player stamped out at Barlow after a bit of a kerfuffle between the two. The red card was for violent conduct and Barlow was correctly booked for roughing the player who was dismissed. The lad who was sent off was at great pains to explain to McNulty what has happened as he was leaving the field and even he demonstrated a lunging/stamping action, so even it was misinterpreted by the officials, it was an invite to them to deal with it. Give them a reason and they will act upon it. The result was deserved whether they had 10 or 11 men. The only thing they offered was a crash against the bar from an excellent free kick, otherwise - nothing. The benefits of shooting at goal ably demonstrated by Kyron Gordon. Okeke was MoM for me. pacy, direct and effective. Knows how to cross a ball into dangerous areas. Three welcome points and another home match on Saturday. Sleep well.

That's a good point about Okeke. I thought he offered us something new on that flank.

Tamworth Tuesday on 00:17 - Dec 18 with 610 views | Sandyman | Strange game. We were pleasingly on the front foot looking to go forward at almost every opportunity. Unusual, but good to see. Maybe a lacklustre Tamworth side allowed that to happen. Still, no end product. Many more chances created and attempted than during the Dagenham debacle, but no goal scored. Throughout, and it got much worse, bizarre refereeing decisions were spoiling the game. We'll have to wait and see footage of the yellow / red card decision in the second half. Then the ref got even worse. Great to see us playing so positively and, eventually, deservedly scoring goals and gaining points, which is what the game is all about. Well done Jim and the players.
Tamworth Tuesday on 07:20 - Dec 18 with 249 views | Daley_Lama | Same view A bit more attack minded than v Daggers and started brightly. Credit to Tamworth they didn’t sit and defend and got better as the first half wore on. Second half started with us doing all of the pressing and sense that we were finally going to break through. Whether that would have happened without the sending off is for the trousers of time to know, sending off was the pivotal moment. East was pulling strings all game and Okeke good going forward. Need to get Kairo back in the goals since his injury like we did at the start of the season, once he starts, he doesn’t stop. Maybe Sat for that.
