Do Liverpool or Aston Villa (just to take two examples) play the Pep way? Maybe there's remnants of that philosophy but you just don't see the constant passing around at the back that those lower league managers who've been inducted into this style are unable to break free from
Pleased with the three points today, and we do have a really good squad. I still maintain, they need to be set free, not least to allow the club to grow the crowds needed for tomorrow and for the longer term

First of all well done to the club for the Remembrance Day tribute before the game. Silence also impeccably observed and Littleborough Band playing āTipperaryā was quite moving. Ryan East was deserved MOM and he seemed to have more freedom today, especially in the first half, with Henry playing deeper in a tweaked formation. And East managed to be perhaps the smallest person to score a header at the Sandy Lane end since Billy Rudd performed the feat against Mansfield virtually 44 years to the date. If Dale had conceded that goal there would have been harsh words on here though. The team was immeasurably better with TAR on the right and there was some lovely link play from Gordon and McBride to give him crossing opportunities. Howeverā¦.for the third successive home league game there was a feeling that BJ isnāt getting an optimum performance from the team. We just donāt seem to throw bodies into the box early enough. The introduction of Hendo improved things; Dennis looked off the pace. Like the Halifax game today was down to effort and perseverance. You canāt fault the players for commitment or spirit.

Not a clue, I havenāt seen them play bar MotD highlights! Just going off what some fans are saying and articles Iāve read about the changes Slot has implemented. Watching a full Premier League match these days doesnāt appeal for all the reasons weāve all highlighted and that itās not of any real interest.
Today I thought our own possession game was far too slow in the second half especially, with the first goal being a perfect example of how good our football can be when we pass at pace.

Not sure Liverpool do play a "slow possession based" style under Slot, they've shut the door at the back and are very hard to score aginst, they've also gone away from the "heavy metal football" all guns blazing Klopp style that's all
Im not too sure they're quite as good as their early league position would suggest either, they've ground out a result against Chelsea beaten teams they could quite easily have lost to and hit a Villa side bang out of form still looking shell shocked from European football, it also coincides with Arsenal and City both imploding whilst losing their key players for long spells, imagine Liverpool without a VVD or Salah for months on end they'd be nowhere near the top.
Decent game and great result today........30 points on the board averaging 1.76 points per game so far (17 games).....based on similar figures we should be on about a further 51 points after 46 games, ..... Bromley finished last season on 81 points. Just saying like.
Just need a bit more consistency .

Strange game today, pleased to see McNicholas and TAR back in the side, surprised no Mitchell, interested to see how Dennis might lead the line. And for 20 minutes we were OK and then scored a decent goal but instead of taking them to the cleaners, poor defending gave them an equaliser and the team seemed to lose belief in themselves. Changes at half time were needed and made, but the system didnt alter significantly and the charge was more sideways than forwards... one day Rodney, we will absolutely muller someone but we have to figure out how to put an early ball into the box along the 6 yard line and give the forwards a fighting chance. The dink from the by line is all very well but firing crosses into the POMO ( position of maximum opportunity) is what the best teams do. And they do it at speed and without hesitation so that forwards can gamble with expectation. The goal at the death was deserved if only for the efforts made in the previous 92 minutes but when you consider what might have been, the win was a celebration of relief rather than of a job well done, but sometimes its better to be lucky than competent. Maybe this is the best tune McNulty can get out of this team but you end up thinking that with a few tweaks they could achieve much much more.....

overall the experience this weekend certainly beats last weekend when the general performance was much better.
Wealdstone are in a decent run of form..but will watch next sat on National League tv with the international break being in place

Only saw the highlights so canāt comment on the game. But momentum is key and I thought from the second half of the Ebbsfleet game we had lost it a little. So yesterdayās result, if not the performance, was really important. Another draw would have stymied that momentum even further. Sounds from BJ that Mitchell and Rodders could be back in harness for Wealdstone. Hope TA going back to his old club sees continued momentum.

Agreed the club did a great job with the Remembrance day tribute.
Dale got there in the end and on 90 minutes just about deserved the 3 points. It was a nice surprise to see TAR start the game he makes a huge difference on that RHS. Rodney back off the bench will give us some much needed strength up front in the next few games starting with Wealdstone on Saturday. Burger probably should have at least hit the target 5 minutes before we actually scored.
Not much between the two teams it could have gone either way thankfully we got the winner with the late late show.
Positives for me is the team all look really together and after 17 games we are 6th with important players returning to action.
Hard to be anything else but positive when you win in such dramatic circumstance but we do look like we are trying to score the perfect goal rather than get more crosses pinged into dangerous areas.
Up the Dale. 2-1 winners and onwards to the next game.

Couldn`t go yesterday, so decided to watch the Barnet/Oldham game instead. Very interesting to see how others set up instead of being tied up with the game.
Nothing much in it but better than 0-0 sounds. Noticeable from our games, especially at home was:
Much faster build-up from both teams. Far more forward movement particularly from midfield, Turning with the ball rather than playing square(or back).
Goalkeepers clearing the ball quickly and powerfully-no moving round the area. Some hopeful punts but at least got play into the opponents half while the defence reformed.
None of what some of us call tippy-tappy at the back.
No zonal marking that I could see and one forward left at set pieces (mainly).
Having said that it was a game of few chances and both defences on top. Good to watch for quality of football though.
Suspect both teams will be well up there, but probably not good enough to catch York and Forest Green.
