Burton Fan here!
Your manager Jim Mcnulty has become overwhelming favourite it seems for our job.
Is he someone you hold in a high regard or someone you're not fussed about losing?
What's his style of football/formation?

It would be disappointing if McNulty has given the Burton job any serious consideration, he knows that there is more investment pending at Rochdale, he has the best training facility currently available and potentially the opportunity to put his stamp on a new one at some point in the future. He has a squad that is now almost entirely of his own making and a supportive BoD that have given him a 3 year contract. His stock will rise if he completes the journey back the the EFL and in time he will be targeted by bigger clubs than Burton at which point he could leave with our best wishes and a considerable amount of novel experience under his belt.
Currently he is making a reasonable fist of his job and hopefully learning as he goes along. Burton seems like trying to catch a falling knife which is never a sensible
idea.
Being linked to Burton is undoubtedly flattering but flattery and reality are often different beasts, you would hope that Simon and Cameron have had a quiet chat with him and revisited their vision for the club with him. |  | | |

Pete O'Rourke is the one to take notice of, he's usually very reliable. His message is Jim is a "contender", which I interpret as Jim has spoken to Burton and he's under consideration among some other candidates.
Fitzo has followed up on that and added Burton agreed to the match the compensation clause in Jim's contract, which meant they were granted permission to speak to him.
For all the rhetoric from the usual suspects on here who think they know everything about everything, I think losing Jim at this stage would be a big blow. It's not just the loss of the manager, it's the upheaval and impact on the playing staff and plan. |  | | |

A lot of fans had doubts about McNulty becoming manager and not many agreed with the three year contract. He's proved a lot of fans wrong including myself. With the financial backing of the Ogdens he's got himself a great opportunity to have some success at the club and further increase his managerial experience. He's got a great squad of players and that will be strengthened again next summer. [Post edited 11 Nov 14:06]

Having watched Burton play Crawley last week in L1 in front of 1800 (0-0), I'd be quite surprised if Jim took this job.
Burton have a major job on to stay in League 1 on the basis of what I watched. Even allowing for some recruitment in January.
I think if he stays here for another season, he's got a chance of a much better job. | | | |

There are better clubs out there than Burton if Jimmy Mac stays and gets Dale in the playoffs this season or even next season then they may come knocking.
JM comes across as a loyal person and I presume he expects the same from his players...
Plus JM has a chance to build something at the Dale with a steady owner aswell. |  | | |

Big Jim loves the Dale though and thankfully I expect him to stay. There is so much potential at the club and most definitely unfinished business.
There is one thing that might also be in our favour... Burton whilst not southern is a lot further south that some might imagine. You have to be absolutely sure if your going to uproot your whole family, who I assume are pretty settled with an established routine in the North West. | | | |

Would love for him to stay.He’s a great representative for the club and has done more than any to reverse the on-field slide. I can completely understand why he would go to Burton (money, league position and training facilites for a start) but I do think there’ll be a better fit in the future if he was to stay.
Either way- I hope the board look at the successes of McNulty’s reign and ensure any potential replacements build on those rather than tears any building blocks down. |  | | |

They were sold earlier this year to a nordic consortium. The new ownership cannot have established themselves yet as stable. |  |
