Unbelievable traffic across Rochdale caused by the closure of the M62 in both directions at Rochdale from Friday night until Monday morning this weekend and next weekend... might be a smart move to set off very early for next Saturday's game.
I haven't seen any warnings about this closure, but traffic is backing up all over the Borough ..currently 20+ minutes from Bolton Road / Tesco to Sandbrook Park ...

There has been plenty of warning about it . Even on the overheads as far down as Stafford on M6 they warned of problems and to take alternative routes last night. Trouble is people don't take any notice of roadsigns any longer. Being an HGV night trunker is an absolute nightmare trying to get anywhere in this country due to road closures. |  | | |

I knew all about it in advance so allowed extra 1 hour to travel from Rochdale to Wigan (in line with google maps prediction - outward 27 miles journey took an hour, return took 5 hours... the outside lanes need closing in turn several miles before the motorway closure rather than allowing 4 lanes to converge at the closure [Post edited 7 Sep 19:36]
