Our defence 10:18 - Sep 2 with 5272 views | samueloneils | Surely someone will correct me but is this the youngest and least experienced back line we have ever had.? Gordon 22 39 appearances Ferguson 24 29 appearances Beckwith 22 94 appearances Gordon has 6 starts for Sheff Utd but all others for all 3 are at NL level. Considering this what a cracking performance from them as a unit over the last 2 games.

Our defence on 17:37 - Sep 2 with 4697 views | YadHoDale | Joe Rafferty, Craig Dawson, Paul Butler are just three examples of young defenders who played well when given their chances and developed into excellent players at Dale. I hope Kyron, Kyle and Sam can turn out just as well.
Our defence on 18:36 - Sep 2 with 4536 views | davidab2202 | Alan Reeves was another around that age and he wasn't bad either and for us old timers Ray Aspden comes to mind but think he might have been a little bit older than the current boys are
Our defence on 19:14 - Sep 2 with 4404 views | 442Dale | These are always interesting threads! Couple of examples off the top of the head and having checked The Book: At the start of 95/96 after an injury to Peter Valentine, we had a back four of Alex Russell who was 22, Paul Butler 22, Dave Bayliss 19 and Kevin Formby 23. Only Butler had played a significant number of games at the time. At Exeter in 87/88 we had a centre back pairing of the 18 year old Jason Smart and Zac Hughes who was 16. Alan Reeves is actually a deceiving one, older than you think as he turned 24 during his first season with us.

Tanser had a blinder that game. I was sat in the main stand for some reason and remember how well he played at full back, pretty sure he got man of the match too.

And gone on to have a reasonable career in football with well over 250 appearances in senior football
