Outstanding performance, to shut out the top scorers so far and hardly give them a sniff second half is excellent. Gordon and TAR brilliant again and the keeper looked good, and Kairo looks so much confident now after last week, made good runs, was strong and held the ball up well. Gilmour and East a class apart too, can't remember a time when we had such a good midfield unit. Also shout out to the game management and substitutions by Jim, very astute.

Thought Robson was excellent in goal with the limited amount he had to do. Very calm.
Would definitely look at extending his deal even when McNicholas is fit.
Great performance today, the goalkeepers distribution was very noticeable and he looked assured. Our midfield trio of Henry, Gilmour, East is the best in this league. Man of the match was Jim McNulty, brave team selection, tactics spot on. Two big home games coming up now, let's be ruthless. Finally, fantastic effort from everybody who travelled to Aldershot today.

First half - superb performance. Second half - professional performance.
We got a 2 nil lead in the first half and protected it in the second. The fact we've conceded two goals, (the one at York completely preventable) is un believable.
TAR and Gordon on the right is as good a partnership I've seen in 30 years of watching Dale.

If this what to expect now I’m enthused. Maybe Jim’s idea is to keep rotating but play the same way. Certainly not pedestrian anymore. Class perforfance to a man!

Superb professional performance second half, first half much more forward thinking and aggressive. Full credit to Jim he's got them flying at the minute
I must complement the teams fitness levels.
All working so hard closing them down, forcing errors, nullifying passing options.
Aldershot were like us last year, trying to play with possession but without pace.
Thankfully we've a bigger and more skilled squad to help share the load over the 90 mins.
Happy days. One of those games where we looked like we had 2 more players on the pitch. Damage done in the first half where we outplayed them down the right. So much more positive than last season. Apart from them hitting the bar from a free kick that shouldn’t have been given the defence was outstanding. Well deserved of another clean sheet. We have what looks like a rounded squad. Competition in all areas. That keeper can be first choice for me as well. Confidence is at a real high. More of the same please. Onwards and upwards. Up the Dale!

More thoughts on today… Gordon and Beckwith are absolutely vital to our success. This is Sheff Utd at their highest point in the Premier League when they were the only side who played with three central defenders and allowed the ones on either side to push on.
Beckwith is so much like Jack O’Connell it’s uncanny.

We aren't under pressure to sell our best players neither, if we are serious about the three year plan we need to keep hold of them and further recruit with the same or better quality. The financial rewards for returning to the EFL are more substantial than selling players for a few hundred grand. Strengthen while we are winning games, that's what the successful clubs do to get out of this league.

Credit BJ as well in finding a replacement keeper at short notice.
Didn’t go to Macc so maybe those there can offer more on top of what we’ve seen today, but what stood out was how assured he looked in the admittedly minimal stuff he had to do.
Certainly didn’t come across like a rookie keeper.

Almost 14 years to the day since our last smash and grab raid in Hampshire. That magnificent win at Southampton.
Great result and sounds like a great performance. 13th What a treat to have both the towns professional sports teams firing on all cylinders at the same time. Long may it continue.

Well supported by enthusiastic Dale fans in Ratcliffes. That will have earnt the club a few quid.
Sassi worried me too much but Robson, though rarely challenged, looked solid.
Yet another clean sheet and I think we need to give due credit to Gordon and Beckwith (and Jim) for the way the defence is so much better than we've seen for a while. Best attack in the division V best defence, and the best defence won. Amazing, considering a few weeks back, "too big for this division" Oldham conceded 4 at Shots, where we conceded, erm, 0.
The past couple of games have been very encouraging, we look really good. More of the same, please.
UP THE DALE

Kairo got man of the match
Gilmour for me, thought he was outstanding. No real problem with giving it to Mitchell, held the ball up well today and his goals seem to have given him his swagger back.
Aldershot have been scoring goals for fun and we made them look ordinary today, it's been complete turnaround from the FGR game a few weeks ago when I wondered where our next goal would be coming from. Not one real poor performance and our strength in depth provides a very nice selection dilemma for Jim moving forward.

Couldn’t watch the game but the feel good factor is 100% coming back. Of course results are the best tonic but to see/hear a team playing without fear again is such a joy. Such high hopes for this group

Not to mention, our only other conceded goal was a counter against D&R when we were pressing for the winner.

Last nights performance evidently didn’t impress the bookies once more, Sky Bet instead choosing to shorten Oldham after their home draw to Southend.
Barnet 2/1 - 9/4 Gateshead 11/4 Forest Green 9/1 - 6/1 Southend 9/1 - 14/1 York 14/1 - 8/1 Oldham 16/1 - 12/1 Rochdale 22/1 28 bar
Yesterday was a great performance and it’s a bit unfair to do man of the match awards with this lot, as it truly is a full team effort
For example TAR stood out yesterday, getting forward, dangerous, crosses, defensively sound. Tarryn seemed to have a quiet game.
Or
Tarryn had his hands full with the lively Akpan and ran his socks off for 65 minutes negating their main threat. Fantastic defensive performance. TAR was head and shoulders (literally) over his opponent.
First half we cut through them time and time again. Second half settled into a defensive block, for me could have been slightly more clinical when we did attack but that’s asking for double cherries on the top.

I've always regarded that sunlit day in Southampton as THE defining moment in Hill's tenure. (There are other candidates, obviously)
There's one simple rule in football: entertain. To do that, you also have to be winning often enough or it'll go pear-shaped
Put a smile on faces, starting with the players, and you're halfway there. That's what's been missing
If that's now starting to change, then opinions can change too, and should do
