I didn’t go to the game, but for some reason my mate who was a Pompey supporter went to this game - it didn’t convert him unfortunately .
Anyway he got me a signed program! Unfortunately it was perry groves who signed the program and not shearer

...one year on and I remember being at Loftus Road watching the young Shearer and Paul Rideout filleting the QPR defence in a 4-1 massacre. With both Micky Adams and Raymond Wallace out injured, we started that game with our two reserve full backs, Messrs J.Dodd & F.Benali.

The rest, as they say, is history.
