Don’t know if many here are familiar with his music . Sadly died aged 66.
Brilliant artist and criminally underrated. RIP.

I remember seeing them at the Shepards bush empire around 2001 . He wrote the Robbie Williams tune “She’s the one” He changed the lyrics to “ He’s the one nicking my song “
Brilliant artist and an original waterboys.

I was also at that Shepherds Bush Empire gig.
Saw World Party quite a few times in the 90s too. They were great every time.
He had a brain aneurysm about 20 years ago, so the touring has been minimal since then.
But he did a short UK tour in 2013 and I saw a great gig at RNCM in Manchester where I took this photo.

He was a very talented fella & always came across as very unassuming and unpretentious onstage.

Here's a favourite of mine, as it has turned out it's the final track from his final album 😔

Ah what a shame. Saw WP back in the mid-90’s and they were great.

I’m sure I saw him in The Tabard, Turnham Green, pre-match one time, but I chickened out.

I love Goodbye Jumbo so will give it a blast in tribute.

RIP Karl.

RIP Karl - produced some great stuff.

Cos he was in The Waterboys I always assumed he was Irish, but he was Welsh!

Whole of the Moon, didn't realise it was actually produced in 1985 as I only remember it being in the chart in the early 90s. Odd.

Saw the Waterboys at the Town and Country club (as was) in Kentish Town, 1985 - one of the best gigs I've ever been too.

RIP Karl Edmond De Vere Wallinger

Thank you for your post. It seemed to go unoticed with the main media.
Yes he was underated. I'm glad he made loads of mony for 'She's the One'.
Goodbye Jumbo was a constant play during the 90's. As was Private Revolution.
66 is way too soon to leave us.
RIP Karl.
