Here's a good question - which brother of a future Dale manager played in the game?
| When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf? |

Or was it the updated Willbutts stand? They moved a wall?! The player could be Brian Greenhoff.

New floodlights was in 1971 I think, the summer after Noel Cantwell had made those disparaging comments about the old ones. I think that the new lights were on the front of the programme for the 1971/72 season. I still think it was just to get the club some money as it was absolutely strapped for cash.

Yes, it's just described as a 'friendly' in the report and programme.

True, but we've been through several sets! As i recall it, those first new ones weren't all that great, or too expensive to maintain, or summat [Post edited 23 Oct 2023 23:17]

Yes just a fund raising friendly….any good it did was immediately wiped out at the next home game FACup 1 lost at home to Droylesden….I still have nightmares about that game.
