I don't know why people seem to think everything should go through the police first. One of the *good things* journalism can do is uncover illegality, and it has a long history of doing so.

As to why the women in the Brand case didn't go to the police. Well, "Nadia", the one who says she was raped in LA was pretty plain about it. The notes from the rape crisis centre she went to observe that she felt that if she went to the police, and it became public, she would be up against his name, his wealth and his fanbase, and it would be too painful an experience because she'd be publicly attacked. And what is happening now? All over social media people saying she just made it up. Proving her point.

Indeed, not long since the US president was allowed to keep his job after his "grab them by the pussy" comment was aired and a prominent member of the royal family bought his way out of trouble. Brand probably an easier target than them though and he may well be guilty, time will tell.

I think he might actually be onto a few things in relation to corporate greed etc but he voices it in such a pretentious way that it's basically unlistenable.
