Bradford City match thread on 20:19 - Apr 16 by Trev | We need an experienced manager to give us the best chance of not being involved in a relegation battle for the 6th(?) season running. The board have stated they wanted someone to assist the manager with transfers, assuming they don't have this in place anytime soon, are we really going to trust another rookie with the transfer kitty? The board need to get the next appointment right, hopefully third time lucky. [Post edited 16 Apr 2023 20:20]

Our last manager was experienced.
Bradford City match thread on 21:28 - Apr 16 with 1414 views | somdale | We need a manager who has a thick black book full of players he knows, a manger is nothing I'd he can't get a good squad together, has McNulty got the contacts? Yesterday was about as bad as I've seen. We kicked off pumped the ball to them and didn't really get it back until they scored. All our main players had awful games. Hendo offered nothing, and we didn't give him much Brierley seemed like a rabbit in the headlights, and couldn't get rid of the ball quick enough. Kelly always tries, but again nothing went right for him. Lloyd again worked hard but no end product at all. Defensively had so much to do, but most of it stemmed from a poor pass by us, the passing was worful all round. We crumbled against a big unit, won't be the first or last team to do so . Losing to Bradford isn't what loses us our league status. It s the defeats against those around us.

But had he ever achieved anything above mediocrity? I've seen enough from McNulty's two mini spells to know he's not the right man for the job.
Bradford City match thread on 22:24 - Apr 16 with 1310 views | NorthernDale | McNulty is a likeable person, a bit like Stockdale, but is he ready to manage the club at the moment? Yes, he as won 2 and drawn 1, but is more focused on our style of play, rather then winning games, a bit like BBM? The question is do we take a chance and hopes he comes good next season or appoint an experience manager? Having said that, we appointed an experience manager in Bentley and he made some decent signings and bad ones, but he could not motivate the team to perform. The board must act in the next few weeks and not let the decision drift into the close season, because we need to get rid of the deadwood and get the right people in, to allow the team to cope with the national league. Names that come to mind is Micky Mellon and Graham Alexander, both have won promotion from the national league and have experience, If the board goes for an outside candidate, the Dale could remain loyal to the existing coaches and to McNulty who could operate as the new manager no 2. Either way the very difficult decision the board will have to make in the coming weeks may define our long term future for good or bad. [Post edited 16 Apr 2023 22:36]
