Danny Lloyd is the most energetic and enthusiastic player on show in a Dale shirt. Shame that some of the others don't get the message and copy his example.

The game as a whole is such a poor standard. Its anti football from us, So sad to see.

But I keep watching like a crazed addict, somehow expecting it to miraculously improve.

There's always hope.

The most exciting thing so far is them traffic light in the corner. It’s green, will it go amber? IT DTD. IT DID.

0 - 0 FT

Points don't have to be pretty, but they can be precious. That was a hard-earned, well fought point.

3 shots , none on target...... vs 15 shots with 2 on target well done to anyone who went and managed to stay awake for 94 minutes.

0-0 against a decent home team is not too bad on the face of it. Disappointing to not even have a shot on target in 90 minutes though.

A point is better nothing.....

Pitch may have hindered both sides as it looked awful to play on..

Now in the post match interview tell us who as gone and is there any new faces coming in.....

Crucially he mentioned one or two players have left the club and discussions about others are ongoing in respect to incoming which is interesting. So hopefully we have some new faces by Saturday and Jim say's the potential incoming players will not be here to make numbers up.

Imagine Malley and Tulloch have departed. No lidea who is likely to arrive, but we need them before Saturday

If Ethan Brierley leaves as well through circumstances let’s hope his his new club loan him back to Dale until the end of the season.

Today was the closest I've physically stood to the pitch all season, and one thing I really noticed was just how technically inferior most of our players were compared to Barrow... I'm talking the basics like first touch, sticking the ball to feet, hitting the ball with the right part of the foot, accuracy of passing etc.

Clearly to be at Lg2 level, the players we have are capable of technique most fans could only dream of, but in comparison to Barrow we looked so poor at the basics. There is probably only so much these can be improved in the small training windows we have between games, so I really do feel sorry for EBJ in that respect.

Defensively we did OK without really looking 'solid' - & attacking wise we offered nothing really other than on the left through the impressive Lloyd. I really hope we see some positive personnel movements soon - the place needs a lift quickly. Comments were being thrown at John & Sinclair from the stands when they were warming up that would probably be classed as 'banter'... but you can be certain if we were losing they'd be taken a lot worse.

Final note - 4 Dale fans arrested today. Brilliant advertisement for us as a club... I just hope it doesn't lead to fines for us.

Why would what happened in the town centre, away from the ground, lead to fine for us? Is there a precedent?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

No idea - I do know at least one of the arrests was in the ground, though, & there was a GMP presence there too. I don't know how these things work with the EFL for fines.

Their keeper was making his EFL debut. We had 0 (zero) shots on target.

Quite possibly the laziest, least mobile forward lineup I have ever seen. Only Lloyd looked interested and the poor bugger has been crippled for most of the last 3 years.

Thought we defended well, with defenders doing what they are supposed to do. Honourable mentions for White and Graham.

Keohane gave us a bit of bite in midlfeid. Kelly tried to add bite, but added free-kicks to the opposition. Ball hasn’t got any quality but wasn’t lacking effort today.

It’s a clean sheet and a stop to a bad run of defeats. But it was horrible and demoralising to watch.

Hendo showed more quality and endeavour in 20 mins than Quigley, Rodney & Ball co

A point at Barrow is decent but the body language from most of our players doesn't look good. Quite a few look thoroughly miserable, disinterested and lacking in motivation and desire. The facial expressions give it away, they aren't interested what happens to our club and they are going through the motions. Players who are too lazy to move and find space, players who can't be arsed to jump and challenge for the ball so they will just foul their man instead, it's easier to do that. Lloyd has come into the squad and embarrassed the lot of them with his cameo performances and he is still not 100% match fit. Seriki, John, EEL, Ball, Rodney, Quigley, Odoh can all leave the club for me, we need players who show personal pride, players who don't roll over and accept defeat and players who will fight for the club and the fans, roll their sleeves up. The effort, decision making, first touch and awareness is lacking in all of those players, some aren't even L2 standard when you see their first touch and control. Bentley needs to identify the ones he can trust and those that relish the battle and concentrate on that group, a lot of them are just picking up their wages and going through the motions. We still have half a season left so this is in our own hands but it's time to ditch the dead wood and identify the ones who have the bottle for the battles ahead.

I am concerned the manager may have ‘lost the room’ with his comments, particularly after the Doncaster game. In this day and age it probably isnt helpful saying in media interviews the things he said about comparing with the games his 11 year old plays in.

By all means singe the paint on the dressing room wall but dont embarrass your players in public….you have nothing to gain.

It also doesnt help in signing other players…if players have options they are unlikey to prefer the manager who does this, other things equal.

I love his passion but Id like him to channel that in a way that avoids embarrassing colleagues in public.

His comments after the defending at Doncaster worked though because they performed much better yesterday and did the basics after a shaky first five minutes. Bentley should have sent EEL out to do the post match interview, let him explain why so called professional footballers can defend so poorly . You can go through the squad, it's not just defenders. We also have midfield players who are constantly easily dispossessed because they are slow in getting rid of the ball and their opponents are quicker in thought and action, that happened to Keoghane twice yesterday when he thought he had all the time in the world. The fact we didn't have one shot on target or even create one chance throughout the game is also embarrassing and just underlines how poor these players are, Bentley and his coaching staff need calling out for that also, no excuse for it over 94 minutes of football. The whole team lacks urgency and leadership.
