I have been to theatres (Opera House in Mcr being the most recent) and the preparation of drinks caused some issues.
Here’s a different option I saw working quite well at Download & queues moved quickly..
The issues you face & have seen it myself is who’s next… then serving drinks & taking payment, whilst doing their job, the bar staff are not serving drinks quickly as they are here, there & everywhere either taking cash or looking for the card machine so when you stand back and assess the seven wastes (Tim Woods… apologies I work in manufacturing…..
Transportation
Inventory
Motion
Waiting
Over processing
Over producing
Defects (waste)
Can be applied to anything including the operation of serving drinks in a bar environment)
At Download it was different, staff just pulled pints, there was also someone there behind to get soft drinks or shorts / wine… once you got your drinks you moved to the side & paid someone different allowing the next person to get their drinks..
Was an excellent way of doing things to be honest…
