Brum v Qpr match thread. on 21:53 - Oct 28 by Damo1962 | Our recent away performances have been a tad concerning. We have improved at LR, but seem to be a bit of the old "soft touch" on the road again. The lack of a competent striker at this level...is going to stifle any progress. Think MB will be demanding one in January. |
We've only been demanding one for, what, five years?

Brum v Qpr match thread. on 21:51 - Oct 28 by stainrods_elbow | Unfortunately, I foresee more games on the road for us like this in the Champ. The likes of Amos and Roberts for me lack bite and bottle. [Post edited 28 Oct 2022 21:52]

I can see what Amos is meant to do and what he can bring. Roberts? I don't know. Good technically while being technically not very good at anything

Brum v Qpr match thread. on 21:56 - Oct 28 with 2050 views | ted_hendrix | Ged Scott BBC Sport at St Andrfew's Biggest roar of the night in Birmingham as John Ruddy dives to his right to brilliantly keep out Lyndon Dykes' well-struck penalty. It was some sort of justice as it was a very soft spot-kick. Ethan Laird had dived down low to try to head the ball and certainly seemed to make the most of it after making contact with Emmanuel Longelo's outstretched boot, as he plummeted forwards to the turf. Blues have surely got to think they've got this won now.

Brum v Qpr match thread. on 21:51 - Oct 28 by Hunterhoop | It’s like he’s been told he cannot send a Birmingham player off, regardless. We deserve nothing from this game, but the ref… What this does reinforce, as others have said, is that when teams press us and rough us up we can’t handle it. From our corners, they have won all but one first header and dealt with the second ball back in. They just look a lot stronger physically. They have worked harder off the ball. We look like we don’t fancy it. |
We have competed, but not at Brum's level. Tough team, full of tougher/dirtier players unfortunately. They won with ease to be brutally honest.

And it's usually the only thing he is decent at. What a shambles of a night all round. As ever, feel sorry for the fans.

Brum v Qpr match thread. on 22:00 - Oct 28 with 1803 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Deja vu to Luton. Soft goals, soft underbelly and the other team wanted it more. Be interested to hear what Beale makes of it. Still pissed off with the way Roberts went straight off without getting treatment. Please let Chrissy be back for Norwich. 🙠

Those people penalties which swerve away from the middle of the goal are weird. They look like great pens when they go in but when they get saved they look awful.
Brum v Qpr match thread. on 22:01 - Oct 28 with 1766 views | stainrods_elbow | On a positive note, we're still 2nd for the rest of this weekend, I think. But the fact we've now been bullied by Luton, Brum (and their ref) is concerning. For me, a truly shite advert for the Champ, whichever way you cut the cake.

yep... not the answer i know but we really could do with a decent striker... Dykes is not very good, Roberts gets injured every 3rd performance, Armstrong needs another 18 months development, Bonne doesn't know the offside rule... A 14-16 goal a season striker would really make a difference.
Brum v Qpr match thread. on 22:02 - Oct 28 with 1699 views | dmm | That was a bad day at the office. We now see a glaring weakness in the team. We don't deal with physical opposition at all well. Luton did it before and Brum did it tonight. Beale will need to address this quickly because you can bet other sides will see this as a way to play us. [Post edited 28 Oct 2022 22:03]

Brum v Qpr match thread. on 22:03 - Oct 28 with 1690 views | 89_50 | We were simply not good enough tonight. Passes were either overhit or undercooked. Blindly pinged it into the channels too much, with no-one there or it to meekly roll out of play. The ref wasn't great (as we know, none of them are at this level), but we can't look at that as a reason for us losing. We were too flat, too unimaginative, and a couple too many strolled around without a care. Roberts clearly didn't fancy it and is only here to have a vague shout of being in the Wales World Cup squad. Shouldn't be picked anymore if he's going to phone in rubbish like that.

it's getting to the point with Roberts that he deserves to be booed. The club needs to get Willock properly fit and fast.
